The legendary Django Reinhardt and Le Hotclub de France made Gypsy jazz famous in the 1930s. In Roanoke, Va., Le Hotclub de Biglick (Biglick, being the old name for Roanoke) formed. This music paints a picture that takes you back in time. “If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to absorb the kinetic and musically adventurous world of the pre- WWII Parisian jazz scene, look no further than Roanoke’s own slice of Francophilia, Le Hotclub,” says the Roanoke Times.
