- Read through the fitting instructions before installation of accessory.

- Always install the accessory following the fitting instructions. Failure to do so may cause damage to the vehicle or the accessory.

- Ensure all recyclable discarded vehicle accessory components and packaging are recycled following local recycling regulations.

- It is always recommended that this accessory is fitted by a qualified Toyota Technician.

- Safely store and protect any removed vehicle components.

- Ensure all bare metal surfaces are protected using Automotive Bare Metal Primer and touch-up paint.

- Remove all metal swarf and dust from all vehicle surfaces if surface is used for accessory installation.

- Check that all work practices comply with safety standards.

- Please wear appropriate clothing and use safety equipment.

• Note down radio settings, as per Toyota Workshop manual.

• In the engine bay, disconnect the negative battery post terminal (1).

Important

Always refer to the vehicle’s Workshop Manual when removing vehicle components.

• Remove the spare wheel (1) (if present).

• On the LHS luggage compartment, remove tool tray clips.

• Remove tool tray (2).

• Remove partition (3).

Repeat for the RHS luggage compartment.

• In the rear luggage compartment, remove the floor cover carpet (1).

• Remove the boot cover (2).

• Remove the rear luggage compartment trim (1) by removing the bolts (2) and lifting in an upwards direction.

• Fold the rear upper seats (1) forward.

• Remove the tray (2) by first releasing the fasteners (3) and lifting in an upward direction.

• Remove the rear passenger seat carpet (4).

• On the LHS rear seat back (1), remove the fasteners (2).

• Move the bracket (3) away from the rear upper seats.

• Remove the LHS rear scuff plate (1), and dislodge the LH rear door seal (2).

• Remove the LHS ‘C’ pillar trim (3).

Repeat for the RHS.

• Remove the audio unit surround trims (1) and disconnect switch connectors from behind the trim.

• Using the trim removal, remove the IP trim (2) above the glove box compartment.

• Remove the glove compartment (1).

• Remove glove box trim (1) by first dislodging centre console (2).

• Remove five screws (3) and disconnect glove box lamp connector .

• Under the glove box, remove all connectors and two harness clips that connected to the junction box.

• Remove the junction box by first removing the two nuts (1) and two bolts (2).

• Remove the rear bumper fascia (1) by first removing the two hex head screws (2) on the bumper corners.

• Remove one clip (3) and two hex head screws (4) on both LHS & RHS wheel arching.

• Underneath the rear bumper fascia (1), remove ten clips.

• Remove the two connectors for number plate light.

• Ensure to place the rear bumper fascia (1) on a bumper stand to avoid any potential damage.

• Remove the undercover (1) if present, by removing the clip (2).

• On the outer LHS rear lower back panel, feed the Adapter Wire Harness (1) through the Ø18mm grommet hole (2).

• Continue to feed the Adapter Wire Harness (1) through the grommet hole (2), until the grommet is secured into the grommet hole (2).

Note: Ensure a good seal has been made.

• Peel the backing (7) from the buzzer (5) and mount the buzzer to the previously cleaned top side of the ECU (2).

• From the outside of the vehicle, feed the Adapter Wire Harness (1) through the Ø18mm grommet hole (2).

• Continue to feed the Adapter Wire Harness (1) through the grommet hole (2), until the grommet (3) is secured into the grommet hole (2). Note: Ensure a good seal has been made.

• From the outside of the vehicle, feed the Adapter Wire Harness (1) through the two Ø10mm grommet holes (2).

• From the inside of the luggage compartment, pull the Adapter

Wire Harness (1) through the grommet holes (2) until the

grommets are secured into the grommet holes (2).

Note: Ensure a good seal has been made.

• On the outer LHS rear lower back panel, remove the Ø18mm vehicle grommet (1).

• From the inside of the luggage compartment, remove the two Ø10mm grommets (2) on the LHS rear floor panel.

• From the inside of the luggage compartment, remove the two Ø10mm grommets (1) on the LHS rear floor panel.

• In the luggage compartment, house the Adapter Wire Harness terminals (1) into the supplied 8-way Male Connector following the table below.

• Route the Cabin Wire Harness (1) along the existing vehicle harness, as shown.

• Using the supplied Cable Tie (2) secure the Cabin Wire Harness (1) in 200mm intervals.

• Disconnect the LHS rear tail light connection (3) and patch the Cabin Wire Harness (1) LH connections (4) in between.2

• Secure the Cabin Wire Harness (1) earth ring terminal (2) to the vehicles ground earth point (3) using the existing bolt (4).

• Using the supplied Cable Ties (5), secure the Cabin Wire Harness (1) to the existing vehicle harness in 200mm intervals.

Important

Earth Bolts are to be tightened between 6.9 & 9.8 Nm. 5

Important

Allow the area to dry before continuing.

• Feed the Cabin Wire Harness (1) through the rear back panel cut out (2) inside the rear panel cavity, until it is retrieved from the cutout (2) on the RHS.

• Using the supplied cleaning pad, clean the areas (3) where the supplied Cable Tie Mounts (4) will be mounted.

• Peel the backing (5) off the Cable Tie Mounts (4) and adhere to the previously cleaned areas (3) on the rear back panel.

• Secure the Cabin Wiring Harness (1) using the supplied Cable Ties (6) to the Cable Tie Mounts (4).

ImportantSecure two of the cable tie mounts to the harness using the supplied cable ties before adhering to the inside of the panel cut out.

• Route the Trailer Wire Harness (1) LHS branch across the rear of the luggage compartment, towards the RHS tail light assembly area.

• Secure the Trailer Wire Harness ground ring terminal (2) to the vehicle grounding point (3) using the existing fastener.

Torque bolt to 8.35Nm ± 1.45Nm.

• Disconnect the RHS tail light connectors (1) and patch the Trailer Wire Harness connectors (2) in between.

• Secure the Trailer Wire Harness (3) with the supplied 150mm Cable Ties (4) by cable tying from the RHS to the LHS.

• On the RHS of the luggage compartment, route the Cabin Wire Harness (1) as shown.

• Secure the Cabin Wire Harness (1), using the supplied Cable Ties (2) to the existing vehicle harness in 200mm intervals.

• Locate the rear tail light connections (3).

• Disconnect the rear tail light connections (3) and connect the Cabin Wire Harness (1) RH connectors (4) in between.

• Mount the Trailer Module (1) to the supplied bracket (2) using the supplied 2xM4 Pan Head Screw (3), 4xM4 Flat Washers (4) & 2xM4 Nylocs (5).

• Attach the Trailer Module connector (6) on the Cabin Wire Harness (7) to the Trailer Module (1)

• Secure the Trailer Wire Harness (1) to the vehicle harness using the supplied 150mm Cable Ties (2).

• On the lower RHS of the luggage compartment, place and secure the Trailer Module/Bracket (1) to the inner panel using the supplied 1xM6 Hex Head Bolt (2) , 1xM6 Spring Washer (3) & 1xM6 Flat Washer (4).

Torque bolt to 8.35Nm ± 1.45Nm.

• Route the Cabin Wiring Harness (1) towards the vehicle’s ground point (2).

• Secure the Cabin Wiring Harness ring terminal (3) to the vehicle’s grounding point (2) using the existing vehicle bolt (4).

• Using the supplied Cable Ties (5), secure the Cabin Wiring Harness (1) to the existing vehicle harness as shown.

• On the LHS of the luggage compartment, connect the 8-Way Male Connector (1) on the Adaptor Wire Harness (2) to the 8-Way Female Connector (3) on the Cabin Wire Harness (4).

• Using the supplied Cable Tie (5) secure the Adaptor Wire Harness (2) in the location shown.

• On the LHS of the rear passengers side, route the power/reverse wire (1) of the Cabin Wire Harness along the existing vehicle harness towards the LHS kick panel.

• Secure the power/reverse wire (1) to the vehicle clips and using the supplied Cable Ties (2) in 200mm intervals.

• Gain access to the 36-pin connector (1) in the LH IP/JB.

• Remove the 36-pin connector (1) by releasing the lever (2).

• Scotch Lock (3) the reverse ‘BLACK/WHITE’ wire (4) onto the ‘REVERSE’ signal ‘LAVENDER/GREEN’ wire (5) located at Pin-10 (6).

• Replace the connector (1) into the IP/JB.

• Feed the guide wire (1) into the access point on firewall grommet (2). Ensure the guide wire breaks the internal grommet and is fed into the LHS of the cabin.

Use Silicone Spray, if required

• Feed the Engine Wire Harness (1) until the loop (2) meets the firewall grommet access point.

• Attach a Cable Tie (3) to the grommet access point as shown.

• Secure the Engine Wire Harness (1) to the positive ring terminal (2).

• Secure the Engine Wire Harness (1) to the vehicle harness with the supplied Cable Ties.

• Route the Engine Wire Harness (1) to the RHS of the vehicle harness (2) and towards the battery.

• Secure the Engine Wire Harness (1) to the positive ring terminal (3).

• Release the secondary lock (2) on the supplied 1-Way Male Connector (3) and house the male terminal (4) on the Engine Wire Harness to the male connector (3).

• On the LHS of the front passenger’s footwell, attach the Engine Wire Harness 1-way connector (1) to the 1-way power connector (2) on the Cabin Wire Harness.

• On the rear of the vehicle, route the Adaptor Wire Harness (1) along the towbar cross bar (2).

• Using the supplied Cable Ties (3), secure the Adaptor Wire Harness to the towbar cross bar (2).

• Attach the supplied Flat Trailer Plug (1) to the towbar mounting bracket (2) using the supplied 2x M4 Pan Head Screw 2x M4 Flat Washer and 2 x M4 Nyloc.

• Re-fit the rear bumper fascia (1) onto the vehicle.

• In the engine bay, attach the positive ring terminal (1) to the positive battery terminal stud (2) of the battery (3).

• Attach the negative ring terminal (4) to the negative battery terminal stud (5) of the battery (3). 2

Battery terminal stud to be torqued to 7.5Nm ± 1.7Nm.

• Test the operation of the Trailer Harness using test lights or multimeter.

Important

Refit all removed parts and secure all fasteners to the Service Manual torque specifications.

Torque LHS seat trim bolt to 36.8Nm ± 1Nm.

Important

Battery terminal stud to be torqued to 7.5Nm ± 1.7Nm.
