BUILD A LOVE OF LEARNING

For countless children in Mexico, attending school is impossible due to broken families, homelessness and other burdens too large for their small shoulders

to carry. At Esperanza Viva, we strive to create a learning environment full of hope and opportunity. Many of our children attend school for the first time in their lives when they come to Esperanza Viva. These children often have a special gleam in their eyes that reflects their joy and love of learning.

One of these children is Satyuri. To many she is just another face amongst the rest of the third grade students, but she is much more than that. She has awakened to hope. She is alive and she is dreaming.

Although she is grade levels behind in some areas, she shines. Her love of learning is evident in each worksheet

and notebook that her pencil has come across. She is a natural leader and an excellent student with a new chance at life. In the classroom, she is quiet but confident, determined and dedicated.Our desire is to build a new school

where the children of Esperanza Viva can thrive, a school worthy of their

biggest hopes and dreams. Satyuri dreams of one day becoming a doctor. Some might say this dream is too big, or too ambitious for her. What do you say? With the completion of our school building we will be eligible to be fully accredited and ready to help Satyuri and others reach their full potential.

McNally were able to bring young people, raised under their care, to the dinners in the United States. These young people stepped out of their comfort zones to share their testimonies, give their appreciation, and in some cases, share a traditional Mexican dance with those gathered.You can play an invaluable role in the

attending, but also advocating at your church and inviting friends to join you. These dinners are the perfect venue to

raise awareness and the funds needed to continue the work of rescuing children and training leaders.

2014 was our best year to date, and we are believing

that the best is yet to come. Here’s a brief look at some recent ministry highlights:

LA VIÑALa Viña Ministry Training Center recently celebrated its largest group of students ever, with 27 graduating students. The first class of 2015 has 24 young adults enrolled.

NATIONS CHURCHThe church continues to grow in numbers and in commitment to the Lord. We just concluded a ten-week discipleship class.

ES TIEMPO 2015This May, Nations Church will host a city-wide conference with special guest Jason Upton.

LHI MISSIONSIn January, we sent a team to Nicaragua. They returned challenged and blessed. This April, a team will depart on a life-changing journey to South Sudan, Africa.

INTERNSWe have nine young people in our newest group of one-year interns, all serving full time in the Living Hope Community.

New Missionaries: A Journey of Faith!We are excited to be welcoming the Doese and Nuñez families to Esperanza Viva-Puebla! Both families will be joining our staff of full-time missionaries who offer their gifts, talents, lives and hearts to advance the mission of LHI. Please pray for them as they dive into a world of new experiences serving God.

Nearly every day, amidst the crowd of kids playing on the playground, a little group of children can often be found playing together.

Two tiny mischief-makers are flanked by a curly-haired girl and a serious-faced boy, watching over them as they play. Azul, Italia, and twins Jenifer and Iran, are siblings brought to us in July. The children grew up in an extremely abusive situation and arrived already weary, having just left a state-run children’s home where the family was split apart and only able to see each other a few moments a day. When they arrived, the children had received little to no formal schooling and were behind in their

studies; at five years old, Jenifer and Irán could not recognize most numbers and letters.Since coming to Esperanza Viva, Azul,

Italia, Jenifer and Iran have been able to grow, not only individually, but as a family. Whenever they have a chance, the siblings are quick to come together. Azul is growing into a bright, responsible boy and Italia has learned how to read. Jenifer and Iran have brought a splash of—often calamitous—fun to their respective dormitories, and most of all, they are able to be a family again, in a place that celebrates what family really means. To quote Azul,
