Mike DiRienzo, who judged for us on October 11th, was a stern and in- formave Judge. Thank you, Mike. Our next compeon will be November 8th. The Judge will be Paul Bernstein. Our compeon chairmen are accepng entries, right now, for Nov 8th compeon and request that entries be sub- mied as soon as possible. ALERT — It is no longer necessary to reset images for compeon to 72ppi resoluon. Just make sure the longest side is not more the 900 pixels. Our next zoom meeng will be October 25th Oct 25th will be a program evening “Photo Composi- on” by Steven Kessler. We can always learn some- thing from our programs and encourage all to join us on the 25th. December is not so far away, so, you can begin sending in images for the “Holiday Program.” And don’t forget our Club Member presentaons in March. Prepare and submit. Message from our Co-Presidents

Dear MGNCC members,

As always, our competitions reflect how awesome & talented our Camera Club is. Mike DiRienzo, who judged for us on October 11th, was a stern and in-formative Judge. Thank you, Mike.

Our next competition will be November 8th. The Judge will be Paul Bernstein. Our competition chairmen are accepting entries, right now, for Nov 8th competition and request that entries be sub-mitted as soon as possible.

ALERT — It is no longer necessary to reset images for competition to 72ppi resolution. Just make sure the longest side is not more the 900 pixels.

A MYTH SHATTERED!

Does it come as a surprise? Our long indoctrination to the requirement for the proper display of our pictures at 72 PPI is not needed. For digital displays other than printers the PPI is fixed and the Photoshop specification of PPI is

ignored. For printers the PPI is variable, dependent on the desired resolution of the printed picture, and the PPI specification is needed—but only then..
