I want to thank you for your support, understanding, partnership and flexibility. As we pivoted from in person to on-line, we know how much of an impact this had on everyone. Many of our GPS students were in EVS this year and we know this has been challenging too. I sincerely hope that everyone has the opportunity to relax and enjoy some good times during the summer vacation. If you need anything at all, please email me. We are hopeful that as we return in September, everyone is in the building and there is a return to a sense of normalcy. We know for many students, this will be a return to GPS after a long time away. As a staff, we are preparing to ensure all students are supported and feel welcomed. At GPS, we believe in spreading kindness and making sure everyone feels they matter and belong. To our families and students who are graduating or moving, please remember, “Once a Gator, Always a Gator”. Please keep in touch! Stay safe and well, Heather Purcell Principal [email protected]

From the Principal

Hello Greensborough Families, Here we are at the end of the 2020-2021 School Year. There is no doubt, this has been the most challenging year for all of us. Are You Moving?

We are in the process of setting up for the September start of the 2021-2022 school year. If you know your child/children will be attending another school in September please email or call the school office to let us know.

Kindergarten Registration

We encourage and welcome families to register throughout the summer months. The

kindergarten and school registration pages on our Board website have been updated to

include information about registering during the summer. School websites have

highlights promoting kindergarten registration and registration will continue to be

encouraged via social media throughout the summer. Please be sure to register as

soon as possible.

Congratulations Grade 8 Graduates!

Last night, our Virtual Graduation video was released. We hope that our Grade 8 families had a

chance to watch this magnificent tribute to our graduating class of 2021. As well, we will be

celebrating our graduates on Monday in a drive through/walk through recognition! We hope that

all of our graduates (EVS and GPS), are able to come by the school and be recognized!

Once a Gator, Always a Gator!

We sure hope our graduates come back and visit us in the years ahead!

Thank you!

A special thank you again, to our amazing School Council who has been incredibly supportive

during this challenging year! A huge thank you to Charles, Kay and Hillary Herriot for their on-

going contributions to the Weekly Newsletter!

Thank you to the AMAZING staff at Greensborough who have worked incredibly hard this year!

All staff members have gone above and beyond to ensure students were given the best

experience possible. We are truly fortunate to have such a hard-working, dedicated, creative

and caring team at GPS!

Happy Retirement Madame Di Tullio

After 25 years as an absolutely amazing teacher, Madame Di Tullio

is retiring. Greensborough has been so fortunate to have had her

as a French teacher for the past 5 years. During her time at GPS,

Madame Di Tullio has taught almost all grades! She teaches

French, drama, dance, health and art. Madame Di Tullio makes

every student feel special. She knows all of the names of GPS

students and brightens up their world. Madame Di Tullio has co-

lead the Student Council for the past several years and she has

developed and encouraged every student on the Council to be a

leader. Student voice has been elevated to a new level under

Madame Di Tullio’s leadership. Madame Di Tullio supports all of

her colleagues and spreads kindness each and every day at our

school. We will miss Madame Di Tullio next year but she has

promised to come back and supply teach!

She is looking forward to travelling when possible and spending

time with her husband, daughters and grandchildren.

Congratulations Madame! F́licitations!

Together We are Canada, By Leanne Guenther

My name is British Columbia The jewel of the West Coast. Forestry and fishing are The things that I do most. Hi, I am Alberta A wild west kind of place With cows and oil and mountains And lots of open space. I am Manitoba And I’m Saskatchewan We’re the golden prairies Where fields of wheat grow in the sun Hi, I am Ontario The home of government To me each year the leaders Of our democracy are sent. Bonjour, I am Quebec Here French is my language too When I want to ask “how are you?” I say, “comment allez vous?” Newfoundland, New Brunswick And Nova Scotia -- those are we, We are Atlantic Provinces The three musketeers of the sea.

I’m Prince Edward Island And I know I may be small But without me all the rest of you Would have no potatoes at all. The Yukon, Nunavut and North West Territories are up north. Through ice and cold and polar bears Few brave souls venture forth. Together we are Canada One nation strong and free With sharing, friends and happiness Forever we will be!

Enjoy a DELIGHTFUL SUMMER!

Stay safe!! Keep happy!!!

Mrs. Qureshi’s Class Enjoying Beach Day!

I wanted to acknowledge and thank the Student Council for their incredible leadership this year.

Although some of the council will be returning to Greensborough in September, many others are

graduating and moving on to high school. This Student Council has been hard working,

determined, creative, passionate and dependable. I am extremely proud of the many initiatives

that they planned and lead this year. Under the leadership of Madame Di Tullio and Mr. Quan,

these students grew and developed into incredible leaders. I am thrilled that many of the

students will continue to lead and be involved next year. For those students moving on, I know

they will continue to be involved in school life and will do great things! I cannot wait to see and

hear about their next chapter!

Thank you Student Council!

Mrs. Purcell
