Click on the Basic or Power (Advanced) search tab.

In Basic, search by Keyword, Title, Author, Subject, or Series.

For an author

search, type:author’s last name, first

name

In Power search, you can narrow your search with AND, OR, NOT.

Try It: Find a book about European art during the Renaissance. If you type art in the basic search box, your results are:

KEYWORD=805 books SUBJECT=286 books TITLE=178 books

Now use the Power Search. Type art in the 1st search box & renaissance in the 2nd.

You have narrowed the search to 40 books.

Narrow it further with a 3rd search term. Now you have 8 books for European Art during the Renaissance.

Compare this with Google search results – only 27,000,000 sites to examine, & the 1st one is Wikipedia. Which sites can you

trust?

How do you find a fiction book?

1. Find the call numberof the book using Destiny.

2. These prefixes tell you the library section in which the book is located:
