Invitation to John | 6 – 7:30 p.m. | Sept. 10 – Nov. 19 Heritage Room | Cost: $11 | Jennifer SladeThe early church chose to keep four Gospel accounts of the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Three of these Gospels are very similar to each other in what they tell about the story of Jesus and how they tell it. However, the Gospel of John stands apart. Here we find Jesus speaking not in parables, but in lengthy discourses. In the very first chapter of John’s Gospel, Jesus issues two invitations: “Come and see,” and “Follow me.” They echo the invitations of this study: to come and see this Jesus—to hear him speak, to see his signs—and to consider anew what it means to be his followers.

Methodism and Faith Questions | Dr. Roy JamesIn this class we will learn about the basic Methodist Church doctrine and how that impacts what our church teaches and does. We will also explore some of our history and how that history colors what we do as a church and how we worship. We will touch on the Methodist church structure for doing the work of “church” both on a local level and the general church level.

When Children Ask Questions | Rev. Rhett AnsleyWhat do we do when our children ask one of those questions about God that leaves us stumped? Do we tell them to ask their Sunday School teacher, or do we take that as an opportunity to have a faith conversation at home? Develop skills for having conversations about faith with your children, spend time with parents who are also having these conversations, and discover the joy that is found watching children grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Communication and Marriage | Rev. Mike SchutzBuild a better marriage through small group marriage studies. These sessions will help you discover how to resolve conflict and better communicate in your Christian marriage.
