Roosevelt elk, deer, coyote and the occasional black bear and cougar are at home in the grassy meadows and forests that surround the marsh. The mouth of Beaver Creek opens to the Pacific Ocean at Ona Beach. The beach and marsh are an integral part of the Beaver Creek Watershed that connect old-growth forests, coastal areas and marsh habitats. Welcome Center The Welcome Center sits on a hill on the northern outskirts of the park. Inside, interpretive panels describe the area’s ecology and wildlife. Beaver Marsh Trail (Seasonal)

0.2

HikingFrom the Welcome Center:Beaver Marsh Trail • Length: .9 mileThis soft-packed seasonal trail heads through mixed conifer forests, eventually leading down across the marsh where it meets with the Beaver Creek Loop trail. The new section of boardwalk allows visitors to access a small section of the marsh trail year-round.

Overlook Trail • Length: .3 mileThis easy, flat walk offers stunning views overlooking Beaver Creek Marsh. A .12-mile section is 6' wide rolled gravel. Bring a picnic to enjoy at one of the picnic tables along the route.

From service road on South Beaver Creek Road:Beaver Creek Loop • Length: 2 milesThe backbone of the marsh trails, this soft-packed, moderately difficult loop skirts the fringes of the upland forests and meadows. Stay on the loop, or take a detour on one of the interior trails. The .5-mile Snaggy Point Loop climbs 360 feet to an epic view of the Pacific Ocean and lower reaches of the marsh.

PaddlingLaunch your kayak, canoe or small boat from North Beaver Creek Road. The three-mile, flat water paddle meanders through the marshes and wetlands of the Beaver Creek estuary. Keep an eye out for beaver, river otter, deer and a wide-range of migratory and residential bird species.

Kayak ToursDon’t have a kayak? During the summer, we supply the kayaks, paddles, life jackets and interpretive guides. To sign up, click on Tours/Events at store.oregonstateparks.org.
