Instructions on how to use MZA
How to use MZAImportant note: to Start it, click on the gray area not the
colored one!
Open the EXCEL fileIMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure the REGIONAL settings of your PC are in English and not in GREEK (see the next 2
slides)
Save it as CSV (Comma Separated Value ) file.
The file to be used:Note the min & max values
Select the LOWEST values in each Index (graph)
The arrows show the LOWEST values for each Index, indicating the optimum number of MZs for this property
Conclusions and recommendations
• For the 264 sample points (one at each olive tree), the MZA analysis results from the soil’s VWC (Volumetric Water Content) indicate that the optimum number of Management Zones (MZs) are 5.
• Therefore, if we use SURFER to create the map, we must use 5 zones, using the LEGENG range.
Always, check for the MIN & MAX values (see the original datafile)
For the ECa variable, the optimum number of MZs appears to be 4 or 5.
The FPI index is stronger in case of different MZs are shown in each graph
See the Min & Max fruit load and check it.
For the Fruit Yield, the optimum number of MZs appears to be 4 or 5
Homework:Use any of the attached files to analyze for optimum
number of MZs at each field
