School Picture DaySchool picture day is Wednesday, August 30, 2017. We will begin taking photos at 8AM. Picture forms were sent
home in the first day packets. Additional forms will be available on August 30th. Photos can also be ordered
online! More information is located on the FMS webpage.
Students are required to follow the school dress code on picture day.

Back to School Dance and Party
Come and celebrate the beginning of the new school year at the PTC sponsored “Back to School Dance!”
Friday, September 1st from 2:30 to 4:00PM
Tickets are $3.00 and can be purchased Friday morning (9/1), lunch and at the door. Activity buses will be available immediately following the dance.

IMSA News
IMSA applications for the 2017-18 IMSA Fusion program are now available in room 241 and 236. Completed applications must be
turned in by September 6th in order to be considered for the limited number of positions available in the program. Returning students will be accepted as long as a completed application are received
by September 6th. Students will receive acceptance letters by September 15th. IMSA will meet on Mondays from 2:30 to 4:00 beginning on September 18th. Activity buses will be available.
7th and 8th grade GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Tryouts for 7th and 8th grade begin TODAY from 2:30-5:00.
You must have a physical on file to tryout.If you have any questions,
see Coach Borders in Room 118.
6th Grade Girls’ Basketball
6th grade girls’ basketball tryouts are TODAY & Tuesday, August 29 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Art Club NewsFor students with interest in Art Club it will be held on
Mondays this year. Those interested will need to pick up a information letter printed on light blue paper. Those may be picked up either outside the office or for those in art class
Mrs. Minch has some in the art room. You do not need to be in art class to participate in art club. Students will need to
submit 5 sketches and the informational letter filled out and signed by a parent. All papers and sketches need to be
turned in at the same time and are due by Wed. Sept 6th.
Mathcounts
Mathcounts practice will start Wednesday, August 30th.
Mr. Knoepfle will have daily sample problem sets
in his room (231).
Please stop by and pick one up!

John participated in a science contest. He received 3 points for each correct answer but lost 2 points for every incorrect answer. After answering 50 questions, John’s score was 95 points. How many questions did John answer incorrectly?
Stop by room 231 if you have the correct answer. Show your work. Mr. Knoepfle will award the first three students in each grade level that has the
correct answer!
Fantastic Falcons Show Choir
The Fantastic Falcons Show Choir will be collecting BOX TOPS For
Education. Please cut off the little Box Tops on products that contain them
and bring them to Room 105. Thanks!
