GEMS-Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior-All girls from 1st –5th grade are welcome to join for fun activities as they grow and learn as daughters of the King! GEMS meet the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of each month, 6:00-8:00pm Head counselor: Jolene Sullivan (231-229-2211). Their kick-off will be at Church on Wednesday, September 28. Anyone interested is welcome to join. This group meets the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month, 7pm at area homes. Our first gathering for the season will be a Potluck THIS Monday, September 19 at Joel & Carla’s home. Care Groups– These are small groups made up of any age adult who gather together to study God’s Word, pray together and to fellowship! Mom’s Bible Study - This study is for moms from expecting to experienced! They meet every other Wednesday, 10am at Church beginning October 5. They will be using the book, “Triggers: Exchanging Parents Angry Reaction for Gentle Biblical Responses.” Please sign up by Sept 19, so they know how many books to order. “Let’s compare the Christian faith to a building that is held up by a number of pillars. ...perhaps you see a home that is near or on the water and is supported by pillars. The pillars are sunk down deep into the soil, and therefore they stand firmly. The waves would destroy that building if it were not supported by the pillars. What would happen if you took away any of the pillars? Obviously the building would be seriously weak-ened and soon would crumble into ruin. The pillars of the Christian faith are biblical truths securely holding up the entire “building” of our faith. If we take away any of the pillars, the entire build-

Friends Ministry is in need of volunteers in the Lake City and Marion Thrift Stores. They are looking for ladies who can volunteer half a day a week to sort clothing, price, and put out merchandise on the floor. And for men willing to move large items out on the floor and help with minor repairs and maintenance on donations, buildings and grounds as needed.
