P&C Meeting
The annual AGM was help at the school last Monday. The office bearers are:
President – Treen Barwick;
Vice President – Lorroi Kirkby;
Secretary – Toy Barwick;
Treasurer – Karen Withers; and
Canteen Committee – Justine Maunder & Jody Van Velthuizen.
A huge vote of appreciation was extended to Jodie Goater who has been Treasurer for the last 12
years. A mammoth effort! Thank you, Jodie.
The ordinary meeting was very productive with planning the ‘100 Mile Lunch’ which is the major
fundraiser for 2016.
Principals Network Meeting
Last Wednesday afternoon and yesterday I attended the termly Principals Network Meeting in
Moree. Ruth Samuels delivered a workshop on the school self- assessment process using the School
Excellence Framework and the new school planning process; Matt Priestly, Eddie Pitt, Aaron Ellis
and James Madigan lead a Partnership Agreement Workshop on Aboriginal Education and Rebecca
Langdon bought us up to date on the latest expectations from the DoE.
Clean Up Australia Day
Our students participated in the annual Clean Up Australia Day today, 7/3/16. They collected
rubbish from the Recreation Grounds and the block in front of the school. They did an excellent job
and will now encourage people to – Do The Right Thing! Put It In The Bin! Well done everyone.
School Fees
School Fees are a voluntary contribution covering some of the costs for consumables like photo
copy paper, computer programs, exercise books, sporting equipment, classroom equipment and
cooking utensils. These fees help towards paying for the support teacher in the classroom 1 and a
half days a week and the Transition teacher 1 day a week by helping with the costs of running a
school. Thank you to the people who have already contributed.
Tell Them From Me Survey
Our school is going to use this online survey for Years 4/5&6 students as part of our annual self as-
sessment process. Please read the accompanying letter and return the permission note by 10/3/16.
