It takes a community working together to affect real change.
The stories you read here would not have been possible without the support of more than 400,000 donors who put their discards to work by donating to Goodwill. When you donate your unwanted clothing, household goods, and recyclable goods to us, you set more than 730 Goodwill employees into action transforming those items into opportunities.
At Goodwill, we resale your used items to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and disadvantages through the power of work. We employ more than 350 people who process and sale your items at our 16 stores, 63 people who operate our Attended Donation Centers and 9 drivers who move the goods to our stores and to our recycling center. Then 53 employees use the proceeds to fund our mission through our many programs that you will learn about in this report. In addition, we provide Janitorial and Security contract services that employ another 148 people. It doesn’t end there – we have 14 employees who operate our warehouse and recycling center. So you can see, we waste no time in making good use of your donations!

Peace Love & Goodwill Festival
Our annual Peace Love & Goodwill benefit concert expanded to a full festival in 2014! The festival attracted more than 5,000 people to the Myriad Gardens on Saturday, October 4th. The premier community engagement event invited festival goers to experience the best in food, music, art and learning in a beautiful setting in downtown Oklahoma City. The festival benefited the Goodwill Abilities Scholarship program.
New Stores & ADC’s
Goodwill of Central Oklahoma is growing! In 2014, we added stores in West Norman, South Oklahoma City and Shawnee – growing our store count to 16! When we add stores, we create jobs! With the addition of 5 Attended Donation Centers we are able to increase the flow of goods to all our stores that provides more selection for our customers and more revenue to fund programs. With 3 additional stores planned for 2015 we are a growing agency!

2014 Year At a Glance
Supportive Services for Veteran Families
The SSVF program funded by a federal grant has begun to impact many veterans in Central Oklahoma. The program helps veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless by providing legal services, employment counseling and other services to maintain long-term housing stability.
Work Adjustment Class Added in Ada
In February a second Work Adjustment Class was added in Ada. The classroom is at our store located in Arlington Center and serves Ada and the surrounding communities. We are very excited to see this great program growing!
Goodwill Spotlighted on Opportunity Oklahoma
On July 14th, KWTV Channel 9 visited our Administrative Offices and Store #25 to film interviews for the prime time special, Opportunity Oklahoma. The program highlighted 6 Oklahoma businesses that are great places to work. The show provided Goodwill the ability to tell the story of why potential job seekers should consider us when conducting a job search. Most people in Oklahoma know that Goodwill is a great place to donate used goods – now they know it is a great place to work!
New Job Connection Center
With the addition of two new stores in Shawnee and West Norman this year, we have added two new Job Connection Centers bringing the total number to six. These additional locations allow us to serve people and businesses in Pontotoc and Cleveland counties.

Meeting him you can’t help but be overcome by his joyful attitude about his work and his gratitude to Job Coach, Stella, pictured here with Ezekiel.

Nathaniel is paying it forward by helping to mentor younger students in the GoodGuides® program. In 2014 he graduated high school and got accepted into the University of Central Oklahoma. Majoring in dance, he plans to teach and be a positive role model for other at-risk students.

Nathaniel Taylor “GoodGuides® helped me achieve what I once thought was impossible – to attend college and study dance.”
When Nathaniel Taylor started the GoodGuides® program in the 8th grade, he was at-risk of dropping out of school. Growing up in a single parent household without a male role model, Nathaniel’s grades were low and he lacked motivation to do better. He had older brothers, but they were not good role models and he was at-risk in following their footsteps.
Over the past 5 years that Nathan has been part of the program, he has blossomed into a fine young gentleman that has gained the respect of his teachers and friends. Through his mentorship and the confidence he gained, Nathan has

Jon Ussery found himself both homeless and unemployed after losing his job. First living in his car and later in a tent during the dead of winter, Jon didn’t give up; he looked for a job every day and buried his belongings to prevent them from being stolen.
In September of 2013 Jon became a participant of the HVRP Program at Goodwill. He would walk a mile to catch a bus to come to Goodwill each day. He attended job readiness classes to prepare him to reenter the workforce.

Opportunity Oklahoma highlights 6 Oklahoma businesses that are great places to work. This program gave Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma a tremendous amount of exposure and provided many reasons why potential job seekers should consider Good- will when conducting a job search. In 2014, Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma served 15,307 unique individuals through a variety of programs and services provided by the talented and passionate staff of our Mission Services department. Our programs continue to evolve to support the vocational needs and employment goals of the people we serve.
Summer Youth Program
Providing a unique summer work and educational experience by pairing our GoodGuides® and Work Adjustment students. Students learn a shared understanding of each other as well as experiencing a variety of work and volunteer positions to help formulate their future career goals.

Recycling Center – Environmental Stewardship
Items not suitable to be put on the sales floor (damaged or unsafe) and those not sold in the Outlet Store are recycled at our Goodwill Chesapeake Recycling Center. Approximately 10 million pounds are diverted from the city landfill each year. Additionally, recyclable items such as plastics, metals, paper, etc. are accepted at all Goodwill stores and Attended Donation Centers. What We Do
Outlet Store – Consumer Power
After a rotation on a Goodwill retail store floor, unsold merchandise from our retail stores are sent to the Outlet Store at 1320 W. Reno in Oklahoma City. This store’s model is very different from regular Goodwill retail stores. Merchandise is put into rolling tables and totes for shopping, and then rotated every two hours with fresh items. Except for the individually priced furniture, merchandise is sold for $1.49 per pound.
Contract Services – Professional Partnerships
Goodwill’s Community Contracts division offers janitorial, unarmed security, recycling and small assembly services. A partnership with Goodwill gives your business a competitive edge and benefts the entire community. Our Community and Industrial contracts emphasize learning integrated with industrial work skills needed in the community. Our crews work greener, smarter, and harder for you. Goodwill provides security and/or janitorial services to the State of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Military Department facilities.

Impact
On Saturday, October 4th, Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma hosted a premier community engagement event in downtown Oklahoma City at the beautiful Myriad Botanical Gardens. Previously the event was a benefit concert and in 2014 it was expanded to an all-day festival providing the best Oklahoma has to offering in food, music, art and learning experiences for the entire family. More than 5,000 people enjoyed a variety of food vendors, culinary presentations, and music on three stages, artisans and free children’s activities. Young and old alike were treated to a one-of-a-kind extrasensory experience.
Over 100 volunteers helped during the event as greeters, working in the children’s area and many other areas of hospitality. All volunteers received a free festival T-shirt.
The 2014 festival benefited the Goodwill Abilities Scholarship that provides continuing education assistance to a high school graduate with disabilities.

In 2014, Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma served 15,307 unique individuals through a variety of programs and services provided by the talented and passionate staff of our Mission Services department. Our programs continue to evolve to support the vocational needs and employment goals of the people we serve.
Summer Youth Program
Providing a unique summer work and educational experience by pairing our GoodGuides® and Work Adjustment students. Students learn a shared understanding of each other as well as experiencing a variety of work and volunteer positions to help formulate their future career goals.

Recycling Center – Environmental Stewardship
Items not suitable to be put on the sales floor (damaged or unsafe) and those not sold in the Outlet Store are recycled at our Goodwill Chesapeake Recycling Center. Approximately 10 million pounds are diverted from the city landfill each year. Additionally, recyclable items such as plastics, metals, paper, etc. are accepted at all Goodwill stores and Attended Donation Centers. What We Do
Outlet Store – Consumer Power
After a rotation on a Goodwill retail store floor, unsold merchandise from our retail stores are sent to the Outlet Store at 1320 W. Reno in Oklahoma City. This store’s model is very different from regular Goodwill retail stores. Merchandise is put into rolling tables and totes for shopping, and then rotated every two hours with fresh items. Except for the individually priced furniture, merchandise is sold for $1.49 per pound.
Contract Services – Professional Partnerships
Goodwill’s Community Contracts division offers janitorial, unarmed security, recycling and small assembly services. A partnership with Goodwill gives your business a competitive edge and benefts the entire community. Our Community and Industrial contracts emphasize learning integrated with industrial work skills needed in the community. Our crews work greener, smarter, and harder for you. Goodwill provides security and/or janitorial services to the State of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Military Department facilities.

Impact
On Saturday, October 4th, Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma hosted a premier community engagement event in downtown Oklahoma City at the beautiful Myriad Botanical Gardens. Previously the event was a benefit concert and in 2014 it was expanded to an all-day festival providing the best Oklahoma has to offering in food, music, art and learning experiences for the entire family. More than 5,000 people enjoyed a variety of food vendors, culinary presentations, and music on three stages, artisans and free children’s activities. Young and old alike were treated to a one-of-a-kind extrasensory experience.
Over 100 volunteers helped during the event as greeters, working in the children’s area and many other areas of hospitality. All volunteers received a free festival T-shirt.
The 2014 festival benefited the Goodwill Abilities Scholarship that provides continuing education assistance to a high school graduate with disabilities.
