Symantec Corporation, the world’s leading cyber security company, helps organizations, govern-ments and people secure their most important data wherever it lives. Founded in 1982, Symantec has grown to more than 13,000 employees in more than 35 countries. Organizations across the world look to Symantec for strategic, inte-grated solutions to defend against sophisticated attacks across endpoints, cloud and infrastruc-ture. Operating one of the world’s largest cyber intelligence networks, we see more threats, and protect more customers from the next genera-tion of attacks.

Likewise, a global community of more than 50 million people and families rely on Symantec’s Norton and LifeLock compre-hensive digital safety platform to help protect their personal information, home networks, and identities at home and across their devices.

Norton’s broad array of industry-leading, award-winning technologies include device protection for PC, Mac and Mobile (iOS and Android), secure backup, password management, and parental controls. Norton recently developed an innova-tive new offering (Norton Core) to provide high performance Internet connectivity to the home while securing all network connected devices in the home and providing next-generation parental controls.

Already the world’s largest consumer digital safety company, Symantec acquired LifeLock in February 2017, which adds the leading identity theft protection services provider to the Digital Safety portfolio. The recent Equifax data breach, which exposed the personal information of over 140 million U.S. consumers, is a strong reminder why identity theft protection is critical for consumers and a growing market opportunity.

Digital safety is an estimated $10 billion market, and is projected to grow nearly 7 percent annually, as more than one-third of Americans and more than 650 million people globally were victims of cyber-crime in 2016.1

TogetherNorton and LifeLock are redefining what it means to be safe in the digital world.

It’s an uncertain world. Consumers could be putting themselves at risk when they make a purchase, open an account or even interact on social media.

You can help protect them—with LifeLock and ID Analytics. A wholly- owned subsidiary of LifeLock, ID Analytics is a leader in credit and fraud risk solutions with patented analytics, proven expertise and in-depth insight into consumer behavior.

The industry-leading abilities of ID Analytics set LifeLock apart from other services that merely monitor† credit alone by:

• Partnering with businesses to help stop fraud attempts before new accounts are created

• Conducting in-depth, data-based reviews of new applications

• Sending new account opening alerts† to LifeLock members through LifeLock

† LifeLock does not monitor all transactions at all businesses. 10

How it worksID Analytics enterprise clients, ID Network® members, send app data to ID Analytics for evaluation. LifeLock monitors millions of transactions per second. The ID Network members come from many industries, including credit card issuers, telecom, cable, utilities, automotive and marketplace lenders, and subprime lenders. The diversity of network participants ensures that we see activity from a large variety of industries.

ID Analytics conducts an in-depth review of every element of the application to deliver an up-to-the-minute assessment of credit and fraud risk. It then returns a score based on the relative risk of the applications, along with reason codes that demonstrate the most significant risk factors. The enterprise can then evaluate the application based on the level of risk it represents.

If you are interested in learning more about ID Analytics and their anti-fraud technology and solutions you can visit www.idanalytics.com.

FRAUD “BURST”

PRIOR ACTIVITY

Using advanced analytics, ID Analytics detects patterns of fraud early in the timeline. The image above shows high risk credit applications detected by the ID Network®. The clusters represent unusual connections between identities used to request credit. The circled cluster of 29 identities all submitted applications using the same phone number.

This is a common technique used by fraudsters so they can easily answer questions about the applications they submit in other people’s names. This cluster shows an increased risk associated with these applications.

Finally, ID Analytics checks the secure copy of the LifeLock member database to see if the application is associated with a LifeLock member. If so, LifeLock sends an alert to be forwarded to the consumer.

Part of the LifeLock networkThrough best-in-class services like ID Analytics, LifeLock delivers threat detection, identity alerts† and comprehensive remediation services for identity theft protection that goes significantly beyond credit monitoring.
