DONALD McLENNAN. (1878- 1%4).

Doriald f'lclenrian and his younger brother _Louis formed a par--tnership to acquire a farm near Nyah West - taking it in turn to alternate between f'larnoo and this property. Eventually, Louis f'lcLennan tookover the family property at f'larnoo known as "Laurel Bank" and Donald lived on the Nyah West property on a full time basis for several years. Donald sold the Nyah West farm and purchased a house in Castlemaine for his sickly wife Phemmie and their two children.

Donald Mclennan was interested in politics and worked for a period canvassing for a Parliamentarian in the Wimmera/f'lallee of Victoria. He then worked for a time for his brother Jack, following which he rented land at Kalpienung, borrowed plant and equipment and sowed and harvested a crop of oats, prior to going to Wycheproof to work for George McDonald - local Hardware Storekeeper and Undertaker.

Following a severe hailstorm, he became self-employed repairing hail damaged galvanised-iron roofs in the Wycheproof town and district. He commenced a Skin, scrap-metal and bottle business and eventually built a depot in Webster Street, Wycheproof.
