Curriculum Vitae

Tony Yates 6, Auckland Close, Tel: (H) 01604 714403 Kingsthorpe, Tel: (M) 07470 335730 Northampton, Email: [email protected] NN2 7BJ. Personal Statement:- I am an experienced individual who has delivered results across a number of disciplines for a leading Builders Merchant in the UK. I believe that customer expectations should be exceeded rather than just met. Within Travis Perkins I have developed extensive knowledge of WMS and understand the development/implementation of best practice. My front line association with both Group Quality and Supply Chain colleagues has helped Travis Perkins to achieve many of its operational goals. I have built strong client relationships through my effective interpersonal skills and am aware of their importance in successful service delivery. I am highly organised, analytical and innovative. I am a competent user of Business Objects, Jotform, Google Sheets, Google Sites and MS Office applications. Travis Perkins Achievement Record. Northampton During my 6 years spent at Travis Perkins, I have held various positions within the Brackmills operation, covering many aspects of the inbound / outbound operation. I moved to Quality Control in 2012, joining a dedicated QC team of 4 staff at Gowerton Road site. In 2013 I joined the QA team as a MI specialist, working on their QAMS system and devolping and maintaining an eco-system of Google sheets supporting the Non Conformance process across the group. Current Role - Supply Chain Analyst MIS:- In 2016 I joined the MIS Team. My role is focussed upon completion of daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reporting for the group, specialising in QA requirements, using BI tools, Jotform, Google sheets & websites. We apply ‘Right First Time’ and ‘On Time’ measures for performance SLA’s requiring sense checks and prioritising of reports. This year I have developed a number of processes that have been adopted by QA into our standard operating procedures for the Safety Testing of all product categories entering the TP Group. I developed a process used to provide GAP analysis for +16,000 skus, measuring against requirements for Technical File compliance in QAMS, helping QA to meet Internal Audit requirements.. 2016 also saw the launch of the Supplier Commitments process, in line with pursuing our business objectives as a responsible supplier. As part of my own personal growth, I played a pivotal role in the development of a number of tools designed to support the Travis Perkins Group commitment to assessing risk in our Supply Chain. These tools visualise risk in areas of Social, Ethical and Quality resourcing. The Online Risk Assessment combines online questionnaires, created using Jotform, with Google apps such as Google sheets and Google website, to evaluate our Supply Chain against more than 18 policies. In 2013 - Moved to Group Quality, helping develop & maintain our Non Conformance process. This process has recovered approx £400k in 2015 and +£320k in H1 2016, by way of levies applied to Suppliers for failing to meet minimum standards of acceptable quality in terms of goods & services. In 2012, I joined QC Team. I took on responsibilities for the Group Quality Salt Spray Testing operation at Salthouse Road. SST is a globally accredited testing process for measuring coatings & materials resistance and durability. In 2010 - I joined Travis Perkins as a warehouse operative, working in Goods In. Once the Gowerton Road site went live, I progressed into the Goods In office at Mercury Drive, booking in loads, reconciling load discrepancies and RIP.

Previous employment:- PANSONIC UKDC Achievement Record. Northampton Over 12 years spent at Panasonic, I held various positions within the Northampton warehouse operation, covering all aspects of the inbound / outbound operation. Following my promotion to Team Leader in 2002, I ran a team of 12 staff in the Components warehouse, supplying both UK and international customers. I identified and initiated departmental savings that resulted in a £200,000 operational saving over 12months. In 2003, I managed the Spare Parts operation where I implemented a process of recycling waste that generated a £800 per month saving. In 2005, as Team Leader, I was seconded into a new contract with our 3rd Party warehousing operation. The new contract was challenged with failing dispatches, higher than planned headcount and excessive overtime. Using my knowledge of WMS, BI and Excel, I implemented new operating processes and integrated this new contract into the Panasonic WMS. This action resulted in the meeting of KPI targets on outbound deliveries, a reduction in overtime expenditure of 50% and within 12 months had reduced headcount by 25%. Further savings (shift premiums) were made the following year by the realignment of shift patterns to match business requirements. My input contributed directly to the success of this new contract which helped secure £1.4m of new business on a 2 year basis. In 2007, working directly with this customer, I revised the invoicing systems, to enable the client to compare costs/savings with their European based operations. My actions allowed the recovery of 1.5 % of costs. In 2008, again working with the customer, I created a manual process used for inventory reporting, enabling stock reconciliation between the independent systems and meeting their SOX compliance requirement. My changes to both invoicing and inventory processes provided the accuracy and consistency required by this customer who, in 2009 confirmed a new 5 year contract. I have completed the integration into Panasonic WMS of other client companies who outsource their storage and distribution, generating valuable revenue streams, e.g. Sola Lighting (approx £5k pm). Role as Team Leader in 3rd Party Operations:- My role focused upon managing a variety of 3rd party contracts within Panasonic, ranging from being a key holder for their multi-million pound warehouse, through to managing a small dedicated team providing mail room, home delivery services and inbound / outbound administration. I routinely completed daily, weekly and monthly reports covering inventory, volume, customisation, productivity, etc. I reviewed Customer and SKU profiles to ensure product flow through WMS was maximised, errors minimised and impact on other operational areas reduced. I supplied quotations for deliveries (UK & International), customisation / rework and manually created the invoices for my 3rd Party customers. I liaised directly with the Panasonic Customer Care teams to meet specialist customer requests. Within my role I managed time and attendance systems, RTW's, stock reconciliation and invoice checking for warehouse consumables. I managed my team performance, ensuring KPI's were communicated while promoting and observing legal compliances e.g. Health and Safety, SOX compliance, Consumer Rights, etc. Continuous Personal Development – Courses Attended
