Dear Families, It is with great pleasure that I announce that Mr David Tyler has been provisionally appointed to be the next substantive Principal of our school. The appointment is subject to a 14 day appeal process – if there are no appeals David will be the substantive principal from 28th January 2015. Regards, Mrs Kelly Packham - School Council President
Dear Families,
At staff meeting yesterday we finalised the class groupings for

Both Miss Williams and our new Principal Mr David Tyler will be
visiting our school during the next few weeks.
A reminder to all students to return their swimming notices as

NATIONAL WATER WEEK National Water Week is celebrated during the third week of October annually. As part of marking this important week, South Gippsland Water participates in the Annual Victorian Water Industry Association’s National Water Week Poster Competition.
Primary School students from across the region were invited to submit a poster depicting the National Water Week Theme or water in general. South Gippsland Water selects 12 posters and creates a calendar using their water wise artwork.
This year’s theme was “Water Sources: There are more than you think!” And is aimed at encouraging the community to think of other water sources and how we can use water differently to save our drinking water for just that, drinking. Congratulations to Scarlet Robson who had her poster chosen for the calendar and is represented in AUGUST 2015. Certificates and prizes were awarded to Jai Allott, Scarlet
Robson, Lexi Elmore, Callum Ross. Holley Rip, Erin Jones-Jacobson, Jodie Allott, Michael Ritchie, Tyler Underwood, Jayden Mellor, Chloe Johnston and Carly Anderson. Please enjoy your copy of the 2015 Water Week Calendar that is being sent home today with the newsletter.

October. All students who walked throughout
October and showed additional exercise activity were
eligble for the draw.
The lucky recipients of a “Bounce” Family pass was Mac-
kenzie Delaney. Danielle Cashin and Lexi Elmore were
both drawn out dor the Morwell Ten Pin

the draw.
A reminder to all families of our Whole
School Healthy Eating Policy that states
lollies and chocolate do not belong in our
school lunch boxes.
CHRISTMAS HAMPER RAFFLE The Christmas Raffle is our last fundraiser of the year. We ask each family to donate something towards our Christmas Raffle, (preferably donations of new Christmassy items; food, bon-bons, serviettes, decorations etc.) which will be put together as a Hamper towards our Monster Multi Draw Christmas Raffle to be drawn at the our End of Year Celebration to be held on the evening of Tuesday 16th December. Tickets are being sent home early next week and spare tickets will be available from the Office. Tickets are $1 each, please write on both sides of the ticket with the purchasers name and a contact phone number. All donations can be left in the specially decorated box in the Administration foyer.
PARENT INFORMATION SESSION Monday 1st December 10:15am at the Toora Primary School for all 2015 Prep Parents and Carers . This session will provide an opportunity for parents to meet the Prep Teacher who will address parents about school routines and expectations. Questions are encouraged throughout the session. During the session, an Information Pack, detailing aspects of the most important first year at school, will be distributed, along with Enrolment Form and other Departmental forms. Please join us for a cuppa/morning tea afterwards in the staffroom. Our Principal Mrs Barb Purvis will be available to answer questions during the morning tea.
BUS REMINDER A reminder to all bus travellers, should you NOT be travelling on the bus in the afternoons for any reason, please send a note to school for your teacher to avoid any confusion at this busy time of the day. If we don’t have a note, your child will be put on the bus. Buses will run on an earlier timetable on Friday 19th December in line with early dismissal of students at 1:30pm.
Our Annual End of Year Celebration will follow along the lines of last years celebration of Games, Christmas Carols
