Tooraweenah Public School newSleTTer - 10.4.2019 School News Week 11 Term 1 Moorambilla A huge congratulations goes to Taylor McDonell who has been selected for the Moorambilla Voices Choir for 2019. Taylor has also been selected to attend an intensive skills workshop on the 2 nd -5 th May. Taylor has been selected for this intensive camp because Michelle Leonard OAM believes that she is among the best 50 voices in the region. It is a great achievement to be selected and from this the children have the opportunity to be considered to participate in the 2019 Moorambilla Voices recording tour at the end of June. Sporting Schools Grant Term 2 Sporting Schools have approved our $1500 Term 2 Sports grant application and we will be utilizing Mark Pitts coaching in rugby, fitness and team building for 8 weeks. The remainder of the funds will be used to update sports equipment. External Validation All schools undergo external validation of their systems and processes every five years. 2019 is the last year of that five year cycle and Tooraweenah will be undergoing external validation early in Term 3. The school will be collecting extensive evidence and generating reports for the external validation panel during Term 2. This process will benefit the school by developing skills in reflective processes and data driven systems which enhance student learning. The Department of Education recognizes the workload needing to be undertaken by the school for this process, and has supported the school in funding an additional 4 days of release for professional learning.
