What is the Toornament TV?

The Toornament TV is an automated, smart content display. It is a webpage

serving two main functions:

1. Generate in-between matches content for your online presence

(livestreams)

2. Help your audience and competitors get the latest, most relevant

information during your offline events

With the TV, you can generate dynamic content without any human

intervention once it is setup.

Each tournament comes with its own Toornament TV, and each TV displays

information about a single tournament.

What are the required information?

To work at its best, the Toornament TV requires the

matches of the tournament to be scheduled, as the smart

module relies on the matches’ status, and date and time

to filter and display them in the right slides.

So make sure you scheduled your matches in the

“Matches” tab of the Organizer Dashboard if you plan on

using the Toornament TV.

What is the TV resolution?

The Toornament TV is set in a 1920*1080

resolution, which is the standard Full HD resolution

used by most displays and streams.

You can use your browser’s zoom feature to fit the

Toornament TV in another resolution (the best is

always to use it in full screen (F11 by default on

Chrome).

The tournament and sponsors logos must follow a

16:9th ratio, and at least 320*180px.

How to add a Facebook photo gallery? (1/2)

You can display pictures from a Facebook photo album on a TV, through

an App+Token process:

1. Ask for a developer account: https://developers.facebook.com/apps

2. Create a public Facebook album, and host your pictures in it (it must

be public). If the album is in a page, you must be an admin of this

page

3. Create a new Facebook App from the previous link, and go into the

« General Parameters » to display the « Secret Key » (you will be

asked for your FB password)

4. Replace with your APP_ID and APP_SECRET in this URL

https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token?client_id=APP_ID

&client_secret=APP_SECRET&grant_type=client_credentialsto get

your Access Token

5. Then get your Facebook Album ID, it is the first string shown in the

URL when you are on the album page (see

http://support.averta.net/en/knowledgebase/find-facebook-album-id/ for

more information)

6. Enter both your Album ID and Access Token in the Toornament TV

settings.

Notes:

• The TV only handles landscape-oriented pictures, with a minimum

resolution of 1280*720px.

• Your album must contain at least 3 valid pictures to be displayed on

the TV

How to add a Twitter newsfeed?

You can display tweets from an account, and that include a specific

hashtag in the newsfeed of your Toornament TV.

For example, you setup the TV to show tweets from the @toornament

account with a #esports hashtag, and only those will get displayed.

For the “Consumer” information, here’s how to get them from Twitter:

1. Go to https://apps.twitter.com/

2. Create a new app

3. Get the token in the “Keys and tokens” tab, you need the Consumer

key (API Key) and Consumer secret (API secret key)

Notes: The TV has a 150 characters limit on displayed tweets.
