Send a message along with your request for the work that states your interest,
experience, etc. It always helps to be positive!
Avoid sending a message that
criticizes a work order, payment
terms, or other items listed. Of
course, pointing out something
that is missing or inaccurate is
constructive. Use the messaging
capability of the Field Nation
platform to ask a question or place
a counter offer. Keep it simple and
professional.
Although many buyers also
like to see a drug test, having
a background check will
boost your work
opportunities significantly –
you would be surprised how
many buyers do not consider
requests from service
providers without one.
If a Spend Limit Increase is necessary, be sure to get the authorization recorded in
the work order along with the authorizers name and date. Enter a message in the
work order. Better yet, have the person authorizing the increase to enter it. Call
Field Nation Support for assistance if needed.
Make sure you have all the tools on hand to do the job. This may seem obvious,
but a surprising number of providers miss the part in a work order about “needing
a 10-foot ladder” and show up onsite unprepared. Read through a work order
thoroughly to ensure you’re fully equipped.
Relationship management is vital
for continued work with all buyers.
Successful relationship building
often leads to inclusion on a
buyer’s Preferred Provider Network.
Providers are able to see who a
buyer is after one successful
engagement – this is why it is
always important to exceed
expectations on those first-time
work orders.
Ask the buyer to place you on
their Preferred Provider
Network. That way, the next
time you request a job from
them, they will see you listed
as a technician they trust. This
will give you the advantage of
getting assigned or even
receiving directly routed work
orders.
Watch that pay rate!
Do you understand
what it means? Is it
per hour or per
device? Is it a fixed
pay or blended? Be
sure you read the pay
rate closely and
understand what it
means.
Pictures are your friend; especially
before and after pictures. These
document working and repair
conditions and remove uncertainty,
question and doubt. There are many
vendors that go in and out of locations,
so be sure to take pictures if possible;
even if it’s not required. Remember
that you may not be allowed to take
pictures inside government buildings.
The key to work opportunities and new
engagement is your profile. This is
what sells you and your services to a
buyer. Make sure you have your
“About” section completely filled out. A
provider with a completed profile is
always a sure bet to be selected and
assigned over someone who has no
picture, little information or skillsets
listed.
There are many service providers working through Field Nation that are making
$80,000, $90,000 or $100,000 per year and more. These are the providers who never a
“No Call, No Show.” They never argue, never cancel late, or act/dress unprofessionally.
Instead, they are the providers who follow the buyer’s guidelines and Field Nation
policies. They manage their work load and maintain a professional demeanor at all
times.
These are the providers who win!
They are the ones who get the most work, have great Relationship Management skills
that work in their favor across the board, and get the most from their association with
Field Nation.
