INTRODUCTION
• KBSR was introduced on 1982.
• Weaknesses on KLSR, led to KBSR.
• KBSR is balance and aligned with Falsafah Pendidikan Negara.
• KLSR was implemented during late 1980s. • However there are many comments on
this Curiculum whereby it doesnt fit the student’s needs. The content of the KLSR was not dependent among other subjects at makes it hard to be implemented well.
• The content was bored to students. • Weakness of KLSR :
• Not balanced. • Stressed only on the surface.

Aims
equip learners with basic skills and knowledge of the subjects

Bahasa Malaysia- medium of instruction
Subjects – Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics,
Science, Moral Education, Art, Living skills, Music,
PE, Local Studies and extra curricular activities.
Co-curricular activities- compulsory
Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR)- Year 6
Phase 1 – Year 1 to Year 3
- basic skill (3M)- Reading, writing, arithmetic
- basic numerical skill ( add, subtract, multiply, divide)
Phase 2 -year 4 to year 6

Not enough programs done to get the teachers prepared.
