Corporate Philosophy
To promote the development of science and technology in Malaysia, TORAY established Malaysia Toray Science Foundation (MTSF) in 1993, through an initial endowment of RM4 million.
Supported by yearly contributions from TORAY Malaysia and Toray Science Foundation Japan (TSF), MTSF encourages basic scientific research and the creative teaching of science and technology in universities, research institutions, secondary schools and pre-university colleges through 3 distinct programs:• MTSF Science and Technology Award• MTSF Science and Technology Research Grant • MTSF Science Education Award

TORAY-USM Knowledge Transfer Centre was officially opened by
Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh, Minister of Higher
Education together with Dato’ Akihiro Nikkaku,
TORAY President, on 7 December 2015.
TORAY’s products were displayed at science fairs
where staff were present to share the significant
scientific breakthroughs of its products. Visitors,
particularly the students, were given the
opportunity to engage in live demonstrations to
explore and experience the wonders of science in
our daily lives.
PENFABRIC presented weaving looms to enrich UiTM students
with practical knowledge and skills in textile manufacturing.
Teaching & Training Aids Yearly, TORAY hosts on-the-job industrial trainings for local and
foreign undergraduates so that they can acquire real-life working
experiences and knowledge.

To stimulate greater interests in science,

donated RM300,000 towards the Tech
Dome Project, expected to be
launched in July 2016.

TORAY contributed RM4 million to Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM),
for the construction of the 4-storey “TORAY-USM Knowledge Transfer
Centre” to enhance advancement of education for the betterment

On 12 December 2015, TORAY PLASTICS (MALAYSIA) successfully planted 150 mangrove saplings at Sungai Acheh, Nibong Tebal, Penang to protect the environment. Cash contribution was also channeled to the Penang Inshore Fishermen Welfare Association to extend their pedestrian bridge.

Guided by the principle “Safety First”, safety
initiatives including fire-fighting trainings,
fire drills and safety conventions are regularly
held.
To stay healthy and happy, staff are

awards and recognitions, to undertake
social and voluntary work. Blood donation
campaigns are held periodically.
