Pad Print

Pad printing uses a silicone pad to transfer an image to the product from a laser etched printing plate and there is a setup charge for each colour to be printed. Pad printing is one of the most practical and popular ways of branding promotional products due to its ability to reproduce multi-colour images on uneven or curved products. Close PMS colour matches can be achieved on white surfaces but as the product colour gets darker the ability to match PMS colours diminishes.

Screen Print Transfer

A screen printed transfer is produced by screen printing spot colour artwork onto transfer paper and then transferring the image to the product with a heat press. There is a setup charge for each colour to be printed and close PMS colour matches can be achieved. While this process is more expensive than screen printing, it produces a much sharper image on textured products. The transfer will not crack or fade under normal circumstances and screen printed transfers are better than screen print for reproducing !ne detail and small lettering on textured materials.

Screen Print

Screen printing is done with a squeegee which forces ink through a !ne mesh screen onto the product. This process is ideal for printing spot colours on both "at and cylindrical objects and there is a setup charge for each colour to be printed. Close PMS colour matches can be achieved on white surfaces but as the colour of the product gets darker the ability to match PMS colours diminishes. Screen printing is not recommended for printing artwork with half tones.

Digital Transfer

Digital transfers are produced by printing the image on transfer paper with a digital press and there is only one setup charge irrespective of the number of print colours. A clear adhesive is applied to the back of the transfer and once dry, the !nished image is heat pressed onto the product. Digital transfers have a matt !nish so are not as bright as glossy o#set transfers and a thin, clear line of glue can sometimes be seen around the edges of the image. The transfer is very durable and will not crack or fade under normal circumstances.

O!set Transfer

O#set transfers are the ultimate branding method for fabrics. They o#er crisp, clear artwork reproduction even on textured materials with the added advantage of stunning full colour printing. A special "exible ink is used so the transfer is very durable and won’t crack or fade. There is only one setup charge irrespective of the number of print colours and o#set transfers are a very cost e#ective way of reproducing full colour graphics. They are produced with full colour process printing (CMYK) and then transferred to the product with a heat press. Individual PMS colours can be reproduced but some colours may only be approximate and metallic colours are not available. There is a 15 working day production lead time from !nal artwork approval for o#set transfers.

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving produces a permanent !nish and creates higher perceived value than printing. As it is a digital process it can also be used for personalising products with individual names or variable data. Di"erent materials produce di"erent e"ects when engraved so to avoid uncertainty please ask for a pre-production sample. There is only one setup charge for laser engraving.

Sublimation

Sublimation transfers are produced by digitally printing a special ink on transfer paper and there is only one set up charge irrespective of the number of print colours. The image is then transferred to the product with a heat press but only products manufactured from materials suitable for sublimation can be printed. Sublimation ink is actually a dye so the !nished print does not look or feel like a transfer and there is no ink build up. Sublimation produces vivid, full colour images as well as spot colours but only approximate PMS colour matches are possible and metallic colours cannot be reproduced.

Full Colour Label

Full colour labels are used to brand products that are di#cult to print successfully with any other method. They are printed with a digital printing press and there is only one setup charge irrespective of the number of print colours. Approximate PMS colour matches are possible but metallic colours cannot be reproduced with digital printing.

Resin Coated Finish

Resin coating an image produces a stunning 3D e"ect and elevates the perceived value of a product. A vinyl material with strong adhesive on the reverse is digitally printed and then coated with a crystal clear resin. The !nished dome is extremely durable and produces a permanent bond when applied to the product. Digital printing can reproduce both spot colour and full colour artwork but metallic colours are not available. Approximate PMS colour matches are possible with digital printing and there is only one setup charge irrespective of the number of print colours.

Full Colour Print

Full colour print is done with an ink jet printer, directly onto the product and there is only one setup charge irrespective of the number of print colours. Ink jet printing o"ers full colour graphics and spot colour printing which are both produced using CMYK. It is important to be aware that spot colour reproduction using CMYK can appear a little “grainy” when compared to colours produced by screen or pad printing. Approximate PMS colour matches are possible but metallic colours cannot be reproduced with ink jet printing.
