DirectionsLeave the M6 at Junction 39 and head towards Shap following the Total Warrior signs At T-Junction turn right towards Shap Go through Shap village past the Co-op (on left) and then turn left to Shap Abbey (brown sign) The postcode for the venue is CA10 3NB Strictly no parking on the road between Shap and Shap Abbey this MUST be kept be clear for emergency vehicle accessFor directions other than by road please go to the lsquoLake Districtrsquo page on the TW website and scroll down to the lsquoGetting Therersquo section

Car Parking pound5 per car amp pound10 per busThe main car park is located in the same field as the Event Village Car parking is charged at pound5 per car and pound10 per bus Please have the correct money ready when entering the car park to help the traffic flow Please also try to car share where possible Participants staying in Shap are able to walk to the event it is approximately 1km from the village centre Please can participants staying at the main Green House Farm Campsite walk through the fields rather than along the roads This route is shorter and safer If unsure of the route please ask at the campsite

Any buscoach above 16 seats MUST pre-book parking If you are planning to come in a coach please email thechieftotalwarriorcouk to reserve a space Any coaches that are not booked in advance will not be able to park on site

Event Information - Arrival

RegistrationRegistration opens at 8am for competitors in the registration barn which is on the way to the Event Village from the car park

We advise participants to arrive 1 hour before their start time to give plenty of time to register etc

Event WaiverPlease read print and complete the event day waiver and bring it with you on event day No waiver no race You can download a blank waiver via the lsquoDownloadsrsquo page of the TW website

Event ticketAll participants received an event ticket on their initial event confirmation email You need to bring this with you on event day both electronic and hard copies are accepted

Bib amp Chip

When you register in the registration marquee you will be given your bib number (with a tear off part to go around your wrist) and a yellow Total Warrior headband Please write your bib number not your name on the Warrior headband clearly This allows us to easily identify participants and also means that after the event you can easily find your photos taken by our official photographers (MyBibNumber) positioned around the course You will also be given a timing chip which is to be fixed to your shoe Make sure this is tied tightly in the laces (ties are provided and help will be given on the day if you are unsure) as the chip may fall off during the Total Warrior obstacles If you lose your timing chip you will NOT get a time at the end of the event so please double check your ties You will be able to see your race time instantly onsite and also on the lsquoResultsrsquo page of the Total Warrior website For those who selected to receive their result via text message you will receive this to your registered mobile phone number shortly after finishing

start Competitors MUST be in the start area no later than 10 minutes before their race time for a course safety briefing This is mandatory for all competitors However you have an initial obstacle to overcome along with a brief warm up so we advise you to get to the start 10-15 minutes before your start time

Wave TimeFinal Start Wave Time ConfirmationFinal wave times have now been allocated and these can be checked via the lsquoDownloadsrsquo page on the TW website You MUST check which wave you have been allocated as most start times have moved slightly

If members of the same team are assigned to a different start wave the entire team is permitted to join the wave allocated to the Team Captain Individuals and new teams who registered after 9am on Friday 27th July will NOT appear on the wave time links on the website For anyone who registered after 9am on Friday 27th July the start time they selected when registering is their official start time on the day Allocated start waves are final and cannot be changed

Event Information - Arrival

fancy dress We love fancy dress and have a prize for the best costume each day but please consider what you are wearing You will take on many different obstacles during the course (including 600mm tunnels) so please do not come in an elephant costume

Bag amp Key Drop There will be a key drop on site charged at pound2 per set of keys and there will also be limited space to leave small bags which will be charged at pound3 per bag All keys and bags are left 100 at the owners risk

Equipment amp ClothingPlease check the weather forecast prior to the event and come prepared accordingly Typical trailfell running footwear is strongly advised as there are many slippery areas around the course For health and safety reasons running spikes are not allowed on the course It is likely after completing the event that youll be cold and wet so a towel and warm change of clothes is recommended so you can enjoy the post race beers and music in comfort

Safety WarningThe course is designed to be difficult and the terrain is muddy slippery and potentially dangerous You will be wet and muddy after the first mile If you do not feel comfortable completing any obstacle DO NOT attempt it speak to the marshal and heshe will allow you to continue to the next obstacle

If you have any difficulties on the course (eg injury or illness) please stay on the course and make your way to the next available marshal If you cannot carry on stand or sit by the side of the course and ask one of your fellow Warriors to report to the next marshal Do not try to find a short-cut back to the StartFinish area as it is harder for us to find you

Due to weather conditions flooding and other restrictions it is possible that the course may change at short notice and that some obstacles may be altered or removed completely

finishThe finish line is next to the Event Village When you cross the finish line our wonderful TW volunteers will help you to remove your timing chip immediately (please donrsquot go home with it as this will cost you pound5)

water obstaclesStrictly No Diving at any water feature If you are not a strong swimmer there are shallower options or you will be allowed to go around water obstacles Ask the obstacle lifeguardmarshal if you are unsure of what to do or where to go

the shockerThis obstacle conducts a shock of 10000 volts Please be advised that this obstacle is dangerous if you have certain health conditions such as epilepsy or a pacemaker You MUST miss this obstacle if you have any concerns If you have any other doubts or concerns please consult your GP before participating

spectatorsSpectators are FREE and welcome Spectators will be able to see the start and finish plus a number of obstacles within a few minutes of the Event Village For those who would like to explore further there will be yellow lsquoSpectatorrsquo signs to mark the routes

Out on CourseThere will be 2 water stations on the course and another at the finish

First Aid cover is provided across the course and in the Event Village by St Johnrsquos Ambulance

cashThere are no cash machines on site so please bring enough cash with you The nearest cash machine is approximately 10 minutes away by car

bar amp Post PartyThe post party will begin around 230pm but the bar will be open from 10am and music will be playing all day There is a great vibe around the Event Village so itrsquos well worth hanging around to swap stories over a few drinks The post party on site ends at 8pm Saturday (last orders 7pm) and around 6pm (last orders 530pm) on Sunday

cateringWersquove some of the regions finest event caterers onsite this year serving up hot and cold food and drinks ranging from burgers and hot sandwiches to falafel crepes pizza and ice cream Go on yoursquove earned it

merchandiseTotal Warrior merchandise will be available to buy on site Payment can only be taken on the day in cash and (as above) there are no cash machines in the area Merchandise will also be available on the TW website

Lost and FoundAny items found during the event should be handed in to the Info Point This is your first point of call if you have lost items during the day Items that remain unclaimed after event day will be taken back to the Total Warrior premises If unclaimed after one month items will be donated to charity

Event Village - What you can expect

Total Warrior North West - Lakes is proud to have been selected as a qualifying event in the 2018 OCR World Championships taking place in the UK in October The top ten men and top ten women will qualify from the first 10K wave of both days plus the 10 Mile wave on Sunday Please note in order to be considered for qualification all obstacles on the TW course are mandatory

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

The LakesThe Lake District is a wonderful environment and as responsible event organisers we would like to request that you help us to protect this amazing place We would like to ask all Warriors to adhere to these important rules

bull Please make sure your trainers are clean and dry before you arrive on site This helps to reduce the spread of invasive non-native species and diseases The river Lowther running through the course is a Site of Specific Scientific Interest (SSSI)

bull If your trainers are NOT dry and clean before you arrive please clean them using the tap on the end of the registration barn behind the toilets

bull After the event please make sure you clean your trainers before you leave or when you get home before you use them again This again helps to reduce the spread of invasive non-native species and diseases

bull Please use the litter bins provided for all rubbish

shap abbeyThe event is taking place on a working farm The fields in use have been cleared of all animals and all gates on the farm have been left open (for participant and spectator use) Any gates which are closed are not to be opened or climbed over under any circumstance

bull The course fields are divided by dry stone walls these are not to be climbed on (or over) anywhere on the course

bull The event village is adjacent to farm buildings these are strictly out of bounds please keep to the event village and to the course route at all time

fancy dress We love fancy dress and have a prize for the best costume each day but please consider what you are wearing You will take on many different obstacles during the course (including 600mm tunnels) so please do not come in an elephant costume

Bag amp Key Drop There will be a key drop on site charged at pound2 per set of keys and there will also be limited space to leave small bags which will be charged at pound3 per bag All keys and bags are left 100 at the owners risk

cashThere are no cash machines on site so please bring enough cash with you The nearest cash machine is approximately 10 minutes away by car

bar amp Post PartyThe post party will begin around 230pm but the bar will be open from 10am and music will be playing all day There is a great vibe around the Event Village so itrsquos well worth hanging around to swap stories over a few drinks The post party on site ends at 8pm Saturday (last orders 7pm) and around 6pm (last orders 530pm) on Sunday

cateringWersquove some of the regions finest event caterers onsite this year serving up hot and cold food and drinks ranging from burgers and hot sandwiches to falafel crepes pizza and ice cream Go on yoursquove earned it

merchandiseTotal Warrior merchandise will be available to buy on site Payment can only be taken on the day in cash and (as above) there are no cash machines in the area Merchandise will also be available on the TW website

Lost and FoundAny items found during the event should be handed in to the Info Point This is your first point of call if you have lost items during the day Items that remain unclaimed after event day will be taken back to the Total Warrior premises If unclaimed after one month items will be donated to charity

Event Village - What you can expect

Total Warrior North West - Lakes is proud to have been selected as a qualifying event in the 2018 OCR World Championships taking place in the UK in October The top ten men and top ten women will qualify from the first 10K wave of both days plus the 10 Mile wave on Sunday Please note in order to be considered for qualification all obstacles on the TW course are mandatory

The LakesThe Lake District is a wonderful environment and as responsible event organisers we would like to request that you help us to protect this amazing place We would like to ask all Warriors to adhere to these important rules

bull Please make sure your trainers are clean and dry before you arrive on site This helps to reduce the spread of invasive non-native species and diseases The river Lowther running through the course is a Site of Specific Scientific Interest (SSSI)

bull If your trainers are NOT dry and clean before you arrive please clean them using the tap on the end of the registration barn behind the toilets

bull After the event please make sure you clean your trainers before you leave or when you get home before you use them again This again helps to reduce the spread of invasive non-native species and diseases

bull Please use the litter bins provided for all rubbish

shap abbeyThe event is taking place on a working farm The fields in use have been cleared of all animals and all gates on the farm have been left open (for participant and spectator use) Any gates which are closed are not to be opened or climbed over under any circumstance

bull The course fields are divided by dry stone walls these are not to be climbed on (or over) anywhere on the course

bull The event village is adjacent to farm buildings these are strictly out of bounds please keep to the event village and to the course route at all time
