The Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) is a non profit organization whose mission is to promote sustainable growth in safe recreational diving and snorkeling, while protecting the underwater environment. DEMA owns and operates the industrys only grassroots interactive traveling Scuba Experience, The Scuba Tourfi. What is The Scuba Tourfi? The Scuba Tourfi is a year-long tour that traverses the United States stopping at 2 and 3 day large scale venues with a portable setup that includes dressing rooms, towels, all the newest diving equipment, an air compressor, a pavilion for registration and consumer interaction, and a 41-foot by 21- foot, four-foot deep, 25,000-gallon pool. The Tour gives patrons to your event everything they need to sample the diving experience for the first time. The Scuba Tourfi is staffed with local Professional Diving Instructors, provided through the network of over 1600 Professional Dive Centers Nationwide. The Scuba Tourfi has been in existence for just over three years, and has brought the interactive experience to over 80 venues with over 40,000 participants. What is provided? The Scuba Tour® is a self contained venue: Pool: �

• The Pool is 20� x 40�x 4� deep 26,000 gallon Portable Splash Superpool. • Professional Staging provided by Staging Concepts -Actual footprint of pool

with staging (only) is 22� x 50�

• Sta Rite Propane or Natural gas Heater fits cleanly under the staging with Secure Propane bottle brackets/stirrups on the outside of the staging area.

• 2 Pumps are used fit cleanly under the staging Pavilion:

• 10� x 20� Dressing Rooms 8 stalls • 10� x 10� Registration Tent • 10� x 15� �Diving is a Lifestyle®� pavilion

Equipment

• 30 Complete Sets of State of the art Diving Equipment • over 40 Wetsuits, women�s and men�s accommodating all sizes of patrons • Over 40 Masks and pairs of Fins accommodating all sizes of patrons • New High absorbent towels by Chammyz are provided for patrons

• Max Air Professional Compressor to ensure there is no lapse in keeping scuba tanks filled. (as a noise reduction measure it has been professionally installed in Trailer).

Staff:

• Pool Manager on site 24 Hours during length of event. o Course Director/Instructor Trainer Certified (highest ranking position

within the Diving industry) o CPR/First Aid Instructor� Rescue Certified o Highly proficient in pool maintenance/operations

• 2-4 local Professional Retail Dive Centers provide staffing which include: o Certified Professional Diving Instructors

o Certified professional Divemasters o Logistics staffing both genders for changing booths o Registration and Safety control

Procedure:

1. Patron starts process by filling out a Recreational Scuba Training Council industry standard statement of understanding form, at station 1.

2. This form is then reviewed to

ensure that the individual is elgible to participate.

a. If patron is eligible, then they get a mark on their wrist and are sent on to station three (transition area/dressing room level)

b. If patron is not elgible to p[articipate for medical or other reasons they are given a packet that is provided by DEMA, encouraging them to contact a local Professional Retail Dive

Center to get a clearance for participation from there family physician. With a doctors medical release and referring them to a local Professional Retail Dive Center, gives them the potential opportunity to continue on with a certification course.)

3. At station three they are sized for a wetsuit. They are also given a bin in which they can place their personal effects in.

4. Once suited up they are directed to the dock area station 4, where they sit on

the edge of the stage. They are handed a pair of fins, and mask. Here they are turned over to the Professional Dive Instructor in the pool.

5. Station 5 is in the pool where the instructor gives them a complete briefing

on the usage of diving equipment. After the briefing the instructor guides the patron(s) through the pool to the camera person who takes an underwater snapshot of the participant to be retrieved after their experience.

6. After there 5-7 minute �Try Scuba� experience, the Instructor guides them to

the ladder where they take of the equipment and hand up the mask and snorkel and climb out.

7. After exiting the pool the patron is given a towel and guided down to the Bin

Area/ Changing Area station 3.

8. After they exit out the changing area they are handed a bag that contains local class information, and DEMA�s CD Diving is a Lifestyle®.

9. They then are advised that they can pick up their underwater photograph (which is mounted to a photo card at station 6, the photo station.

Layout:

• The ideal footprint of The Scuba Tour® is 50� x 50�(see sample), however we can accommodate just about any configuration indoors and out (please

call for details.)

What is needed?

1. Water: • The Pool requires 26,000 gallons of water

a. Approximate fill time 3� Fire hose = 1.5 hours- 3 hours (depending on pressure) ; 1 ½ � Fire hose = 3-4 hours (depending on pressure); 6 garden hoses = 6-8 Hours.

b. Pool water meets Health Department Standards for a Public Pool. Chlorine Level 1.5-3(ppm); PH levels7.6. Maintained 24 hours during event.

2. Gas: • Heating the pool; the goal is to be between 80-84 degrees by events start time. The

Heater takes Natural or Propane gas. a. Depending on the water temperature coming out of the hose you can

calculate to about 1 degree increase per hour. Winter time cold water i.e. 100 � 200 gallons. We have the safety tie down straps, and the UL safety approved gas regulators.

3. Electricity: • (2) 120 volt 20 amp circuits are needed to run Pool (min).

Insurance:

• DEMA has a General Liability Insurance policy covering The Scuba Tour®. (contact us for further details). • All Professional Diving Instructors working with The Scuba Tour® are insured.
