*Opening Sentences

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

Worship the Lord with gladness; come into God’s presence with singing.

Know that the Lord is God. It is God who made us and not we ourselves.

We are God’s people, and the sheep of God’s pasture.

Enter the Lord’s gates with thanksgiving, and God’s courts with praise. Give thanks to God, bless God’s name.

For the Lord is good; God’s steadfast love endures forever and the faithfulness of God to all generations. (Psalm 100)

Call to Prayer 211 “Spirit of the Living God” LIVING GOD

Please remain seated.

Prayer of Confession

O God, be merciful to me, a sinner. Just as Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out the moneychangers, clear our hearts of anything that robs us of relationship with you. Make our very lives living prayers that we may be seen as the face of God in your world. We pray this in the name of Jesus; Amen.

Words of Assurance

As the humble tax collector went home justified, we also have renewed relationship with God when we confess our sins. In the name of Jesus the Christ, we are forgiven.

Pastoral Prayer

Hear my voice, O Lord, when I pray; Hear my prayer when I cry from the lowly place;

In your mercy, Lord, let me stay; Hear my voice, O Lord, when I pray.

Hear my voice, O Lord, when I cry; Hear my words when I call from the lowly place;

I will pray, O Lord, lest I die; Hear my voice, O Lord, when I cry.

From the grave’s descent You have taken me, When the men of the world have forsaken me.

In my day of need and my time of grief, Hear the prayer for my body and soul’s relief.

In the morning, Lord, I will singWith a song that will rise from the holy place,

And my praises, Lord, it will bring; In the morning, Lord, I will sing.Alleluia, Amen.
