Former Upper Pond was built at the end of the 13th century as a permanent fishing area. The lake's surroundings are being modernized, becoming one of the main places of rest among Kaliningrad residents.

Former Castle Pond, built in 1256, was the first artificial body of water in Königsberg. At that time its waters rotated the millstones of the Order’s mills. Today, it is one of the most favourite places for walk among the Kaliningrad citizens. The end of the route is at the center of the city, near the House of Soviets.

Its construction started in the beginning of the 1970’s after the destruction of the Königsberg Castle remnants. Its foundations are available for examination. The castle was one of the main symbols of the city, built in 1255 and was reconstructed several times.Tsentralnaya Ploschad (Central square)

After the WWII the square was expanded twice the area and practically became the central square, as the historical center of the city was completely destroyed during the bombardment in 1944.

Constructed in 1923 the building was a part of the Eastern fair and then served as a city hall. Today, it fulfills similar functions – both government and city council are situated there. The building was reconstructed in the 1970s beyond recognition.

Prior to war, the building belonged to Severniy Vokzal (South railroad station). After the war it became a cross-scheduled sailor’s home.

The university is situated in the building of former administrative and land courts.

The main cathedral of the region is cons t ruc ted in V lad im i r-Suzda l architectural style and its capacity is about three thousand people. The height of the building including the cross is 73 meters.

The Rosgarten Gate was built in 1852-1855 and along with the King’s gate is the main contender for the title of the most beautiful gates of the city. The facade combines the power of a feudal building with a touch of tracery typical for Gothic churches. Above the main arch there are well preserved medallions with portraits of generals Scharnhorst and Gneisenau. There is restaurant Solnechniy kamen inside the gate.

Tower Dohna is a “twin brother” of Tower Wrangel. Since late 1970s the tower hosts the Amber Museum which gives a rare opportunity to have a look at the planning and the internal construction of the tower.
