Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete in the USTA/ITA Regional Championships held at 88 different college campuses across the country. As always, the level of play and sportsmanship is extremely high, and the competitors in this year’s USTA/ITA Regional Championships truly represent today’s top varsity collegiate tennis players. Locker Rooms
Players may use the CHTC locker rooms on the lobby level. No towels will be provided.
Additional showers will be available in the bathrooms in the Smilow Field Center, next door.
Hospitality Table
Fruit and snack items will be provided on the lobby level. Please remind your school’s
spectators that this is a courtesy for the players and coaches only.
Stringing
The Racquet Koop (203‐389‐1900) in Westville in the official stinger tournament stringer. Chris
and his staff will be on site for most of the tournament. If you have your own stringing
machine, please do not bring it into the Cullman‐Heyman Tennis Center, as the Racquet Koop
has exclusive rights to all of the stringing within the building. Cost: $16/racquet with your own
string.
Athletic Trainer
A certified athletic trainer will be onsite throughout the tournament starting one hour before
the first scheduled match of the day through the completion of the last match. Ice will be
available in the lobby, or training room next door.
Practice Courts
Warm up courts will be available in the morning before play begins each day and will be
schedule according to match times. Court assignments will be posted each morning in the
lobby. The warm up times will be 6:30‐7:00, 7:00‐7:30, and 7:30‐8:00.
Coaches Meeting
Friday, October 21st at 12:00pm in the Humphrey Lounge located in Smilow Field House next
door to the tennis center.

College Tennis in the CommunityCAMPUS SHOWDOWNS: What are they?• One day tournaments open to juniors, college players, professionals and adults run on college campuses with the college coach acting as tournament director.• Matches are short sets and most tournaments utilize round robin formats or compass draws to guarantee multiple matches for all participants.• Events can be men’s, women’s, or coed.• All ITA Members are encouraged to host—USTA grants are available for host institutions! CAMPUS KIDS’ DAYS: What are they?• Campus Kids Days are designed to expose more junior players (and their parentsand coaches) to college tennis.• College coaches will select a team match that junior players and tennis fans in the local community are encouraged to attend.• Hosts will provide variety of promotional activities such as raffles, exhibition matches, fast serve contests, autograph signings, etc. • All ITA Members are encouraged to host—USTA grants are available for host institutions! CAMPUS QUICKSTART: What is it?• The Campus QuickStart recognition program was created to recognize those college coaches who embrace and utilize the QuickStart format in their camps, clinics, and other tennis outreach events targeted at the 10 & Under market. The Intercollegiate Tennis Associations’ support of the QuickStart initiative has beentremendous and the USTA understands college coaches are leaders in their tennis community who can really shape the local tennis market.
