The indefinite articles un and une
In French, there are two words that mean a or an: un and une.
Use un with masculine nouns:

Use une with feminine nouns:

Remember, all nouns have gender, whether they refer to people or inanimate objects.

In French, the spelling of most adjectives changes according to the gender (masculine or feminine) and number (singular or plural) of the nouns they describe:
