San Jose, which has a nickname of ‘Capital of Silicon Valley’ is a global city which allows diverse people working together to achieve great things. The landmark, Tower of Windows, manifests the fact that the City is a gateway to opportunities and each window can lead you to a great life. The Tower is 100 feet tall, and can be seen from far away on the Guadalupe Freeway. Its base of 40 feet diameter, leaves a small footprint on the Park and allows the rest of the area to be as natural as possible. Learning from the lighting report, we should limit full-spectrum and low-wavelength lighting, hence blue light is chosen here. Each window is lined with inward looking LEDs that light up each piece of frosted glass. The frostiness helps diffuse the light and light will not be projected into airspace. During the day, sunlight can still be brought in through the frosted glass. Frosted glass is also chosen to help increase visibility for birds and to avoid them crashing on it. Time clock controls will be added to lower or to shut down lighting during particularly sensitive times of a year and will also be used to animate the lights. The lights can be very soft and calm when they act as performance background lighting, or they can turn themselves into a light show when being animated. However, in whichever situation, the LEDs will go on and off gently. The softness will make the lights seem more humane and empathetic, which we think is an important quality to show in today’s world of technology. While the Tower has a magnificent exterior, the interior is nevertheless as important and as amazing as the exterior of the Tower. The blue reflective coating on the inside, helps diffuse the blue light and helps create a dreamy atmosphere. The interior will be a great surprise for all visitors, and will be a must-see destination when words spread. This shall help activate the Site and the venue can also be hired from time to time for performance or ceremonies in order to generate revenue to support its maintenance. The venue is around 1200 square feet and can accommodate up to 130 people. White solar panels will be installed on the south side of the Tower in order to harvest solar energy for the lights, hence to achieve the net-zero energy requirement. Its base of 40 feet diameter, leaves a small footprint

on the Park and allows the rest of the area to be as natural as possible.

However, in whichever situation, the LEDs will go on and off

gently.

This shall help activate the Site and the venue can also be hired from time

to time for performance or ceremonies in order to generate revenue to support its maintenance. The venue is around 1200 square feet and can accommodate up to 130 people.

White solar panels will be installed on the south side of the Tower in order to harvest solar energy for the lights, hence to achieve the net-zero energy requirement.
