Haunted Gingerbread House

DecoratingBackgroundEach year, our Haunted Halloween Party is our signature event. In an effort to build excitement and increase Club attendance in the week leading up to the party, we introduced a new event, “Haunted Gingerbread House Decorating.” The event was held on a Tuesday Kids Night.

DetailsCapitalizing on the popularity of our Christmas Gingerbread House event; we ordered black gingerbread houses (already assembled!), and provided over 40 different kinds of Halloween themed peanut free candy and icing for kids to decorate the houses. Members brought their kids to the Club for a buffet, decorating party and Halloween movies.

On the day following the event, we hosted a staff decorating contest. The staff’s creations were used as centerpieces at the big Haunted Halloween Party buffet.

ResultsThe event drew record numbers to our Kids Night, and member response was outstanding. The children were amazingly imaginative in their decorating - many scary and fun houses were created!
