As did the other top three: Ducky Goard,
Jennifer Holland and JoAnne Salmons.
Every employee that received a vote was
given a canister of candy. This is a small
“thank you” but it lets staff know we
appreciate them. Be sure to personally thank
all of our staff!
The campus is beautiful. Everyone’s
planting of flowers around their homes have
added so much color and cheerfulness.
Thank you all for making Kings Grant a
special place in which to live.
See you around campus!

Isaiah 26: 13 “Lord, You give peace to the people who keep their
purpose firm and put their trust in You.”
The Purpose-Driven Life (p. 30 -34) by Rev. Rick Warren
challenges us to live with hope, a focus, and be motivated to answer the
question, “What did I do with what was given to me?” The gifts, talents,
opportunities, and resources God gave us! Did we focus on ourselves or
to reach out to the needs and concerns of all the people around us?
Hope: God brings meaning and purpose to our existence. Without
meaning life has no significance or hope as we face each day. Hope is
essential to our lives as air and water. We need hope so we can cope with
the anxiety, frustration, and monotony of a week. Scripture reminds us
that God is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even
dream of--infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, or hopes.
(Ephesians 3: 20)
Focus: It concentrates your effort and energy on what is im-
portant. We become effective by being selective. It is too easy for us to
become distracted on minor issues. Henry David Thoreau observed that
people live in quiet desperation but today a better description is aimless
distraction. We think this time it is different but confusion or a lack of
focus detours us. An important message can be never confuse activity
with productivity! “I am focusing all my energy in forgetting the past and
looking forward to what lies ahead.” (Philippians 3:13).
Motivation: Purpose produces passion and nothing energizes like a
clear aim for life. George Bernard Shaw wrote, “This is the true joy of
life: the being used up for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty
one; being a force of nature instead of a selfish person.” Matthew 6:33
reminds us, “Seek first the kingdom of God…” May God help us with
wisdom in this challenge of life’s priorities! Where do you need hope, a
focus, or motivation in your
schedule ?
I hear America singing, the varied
carols I hear, Those of mechanics, each one singing his as it should be blithe
and strong, The carpenter singing his as he measures his
plank or beam, The mason singing his as he makes ready for
work, or leaves off work,
The boatman singing what belongs to him in his boat, the deck-hand singing on the
steamboat deck, The shoemaker sing-ing as he sits on his
bench, the hatter singing as he stands,
The wood-cutter’s song, the ploughboy’s
on his way in the morning, or at noon
intermission or at sundown,
The delicious singing of the mother, or of
the young wife at work, or of the girl sewing or washing,
Each singing what be-longs to him or her and to none else,
The day what belongs to the day—at night
the party of young fel-lows, robust, friendly,
Singing with open mouths their strong
melodious songs.

Why do you exercise? Midge: After exercise I feel so good and rejuvenated!
Betty: It helps my balance and strengthens my legs.
How has exercise helped you? Midge: I am 87 and even though I have had health issues for
years exercise had brought my vital signs back to perfect.
Betty: I am stronger because of exercise.
Any advice to other residents?
Midge: Get up! It’s worth it. Don’t stay at home.
Betty: By all means do it.

Welcome to the Bot-
tom Dollar Emporium, where
everything from coconut
mallow cookies to Clabber
Girl Baking Powder costs only
a dollar, and coffee and gossip
are free.
For Elizabeth, Mavis,
and Attalee, logging nine to
five at the Bottom Dollar is
not just work time, it's family
time. So when news gets out
that the Super Saver Dollar
Store chain plans to set up shop and run the Bottom
Dollar out of town, things go catawampus. Manager
Elizabeth, who has a good head for business even
though she flunked pin-curling in beauty school,
teams up with a crew of dedicated do-gooders bent
on saving the Bottom Dollar from the fate of spare
change.
But when Elizabeth's unlikely new
love interest -- who also happens to be Cayboo
Creek's wealthiest bachelor -- pitches woo, out come
some startling revelations about her past that turn
life more than a little interesting for all her friends
and neighbors.
