Water Quality Report Background
This report is submitted to our users as a requirement of the Interior Health Authority through
the Drinking Water Protection Act of 2003.
In this report you will find the following:
An outline of our water testing program, which lists the sites we test from and includes a sum-
mary of the tests performed. This summary lists the number and type of samples taken. We
send weekly samples to Caro Analytical services in Kelowna for coliform and e-coli evalua-
tions. We had 3 total coliform results at Memorial Well #2 (March12th, May 13th, and June
3rd). Re-testing was completed for three consecutive weeks and all of the test results were less
than 1 Total Coliform which is within the allowable limits. These positive Coliform results are
not representative of the water in the system but the result of a faulty sample tap that was col-
lecting dust and debris. We also regularly test for chlorine residuals throughout the system to
ensure that we are using the right amount of chlorine and to give us a snapshot on the effec-
tiveness of this treatment.
A comprehensive water analysis which lists the type and amount of minerals etc. that is found
in the water was completed for 2019. This test is done on a yearly basis and provides us with
information to track any changes in the water over time. The town utilizes two water sources
consisting of a total of three wells. The source you are receiving your water from depends on
where you live in the Town.
The Town of Princeton’s water system is currently classified as a Level III system by the En-
vironmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP). This requires that at least one operator
be certified to that level. This report contains the 2019 list of certified personnel and their lev-
els of certification. Certification is acquired based on time spent on the water system and edu-
cation credits. Once an operator has the required pre-requisites they are eligible to write the
appropriate level exam. This past year the Level 2 Operator had completed and received the
Level 3 certification. Additionally, the Towns level 1 Operator has completed and received
Level 2 certification.
The total amount of water pumped in the Town in 2019 as well as a breakdown per month
from our three wells is listed. The Town is committed to locating and repairing leaks as well
as the replacement of some aging water mains as listed in the water improvement section.
The town is required to have an emergency response plan to effectively handle a variety of
water issues that may arise and affect the health of the water supply. This plan is on file at the
town Hall and available for review upon request.

WATER SYSTEM COMPLETED & PLANNED IMPROVEMENTS
EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN
The Town of Princeton has an updated Emergency Response Plan pertaining to the
