The 14th Annual Seven Devils SafetyFest was held Saturday, July 1, 2017. Many gathered to browse the booths,

check-out the goodies at the bake sale, bid on Silent Auction items and listen for their name as a raffle winner.

The children, and some adults, had fun in the “Kids Carnival” area and playing putt-putt. The Seven Devils Public

Safety Officers and firemen welcomed the children at the “squirt house” and the “smoke house”. Goodie bags

and helmets were handed out while some had fingerprints taken. Others found it awesome to go up the ladder

truck, courtesy of Avery Ladder Company. Blowing Rock Fire Department provided their “bounce house” and

Grass County Line played great music. Did I forget to mention the best BBQ?

Thank you to our Platinum, Gold, Silver & Placemat Ad Sponsors and Silent Auction & Raffle Prize Contributors.

A special thanks to the many volunteers and Town employees who helped make SafetyFest possible from start

to finish. SafetyFest 2017 would not have gotten off the ground without their time & energy! Besides the best

BBQ in the High Country, craft booths, Raffle, Silent Auction and fellowship, the SafetyFest is an excellent fund-

raiser. Proceeds benefit the Seven Devils Fire, Police & Public Works Department, thereby benefitting residents,

visitors and neighboring communities with emphasis on health, safety and welfare.

Thank you for your support!

Lunch was provided by Phyllis Miller in honor of Police Appreciation Week in May. It was a thoughtful gesture that was enjoyed by the 7D

Police Department.

WE LOVE OUR BLUE

WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD!

During the summer months, we welcomed a new neighbor. The Blue Ridge Conservancy, via a Voluntary Contiguous Annexation for 2 parcels became part of the Town of Seven Devils, effective

July 11, 2017. This property is included in the zoning for “Parks”. In late July, the Blue Ridge Conservancy hosted a “meet

& greet” with food & drinks for all to enjoy at Hawksnest.

MUSIC ON THE LAWN

Extra daylight hours, gave many a chance to tap their

toes to the entertainment of the Johnson Brothers and Amantha Mill. In June & August this well loved event was enjoyed by

many.

Thank you to the TDA & Recreation Committee for

sponsoring.
