1. INTRODUCTION

This documentation is to guide TP users on how to configure the TP wireless SSID “TP-WIFI” on their laptops and mobile devices.

2. REQUIREMENTS

What you will need to connect to TP Wireless Network.

To connect to TP Wireless Network, you will need:

A Laptop or Wi-Fi enabled mobile device.

TP Student Account.

3. CONFIGURATION OF WIRELESS SETTING

3.1 User Guide for Windows 8.0/8.1 Users

3.1.1 You will need to access the “Network and Sharing Center” for the configuration. Please press the Windows key + C key on your keyboard to open the Start menu. Click the search

icon and type in „network and sharing‟. Click “Settings” below as shown in Figure 3.1A. Thereafter, click “Network and Sharing Center” as shown in Figure 3.1B.

3.1.2 In the new window, under “Change your networking settings”, please click “Set up a new

connection or network” as shown in Figure 3.1C.

3.1.3 In the new pop-up window, please select “Manually connect to a wireless network” and click “Next” (See Figure 3.1D).

3.1.4 Please type in “TP-WIFI” on the Network name and select “WPA2-Enterprise” on Security type. Please select “AES” from the drop down menu on the Encryption type and click “Next” to continue as in Figure 3.1E.

3.1.5 “TP-WIFI” configuration is now successfully added to your profile. Please click “Change connection settings” as in Figure 3.1F for the security configuration.

3.1.6 Please select the “Security” tab under “TP-WIFI Wireless Network Properties” and click “Settings” as shown in Figure 3.1G.

3.1.7 Under “Protected EAP Properties”, please uncheck “Verify the server‟s identity by validating the certificate”. Under “Select Authentication Method”, select “Configure”. (See Figure 3.1H)

3.1.8 Please uncheck “Automatically use my Windows logon name and password” and click “OK”. Click “OK” again to accept the “Protected EAP Properties” setting. (See Figure 3.1I)

3.1.10 Please check “Specify authentication mode” and select from the drop down menu “User or computer Authentication”. Click “OK” to accept the “Advanced settings” (Figure 3.1K) and click “OK” thereafter.

3.1.11 On the right bottom corner of your desktop, click on the icon to bring up the wireless connection and select “TP-WIFI”. Click “Connect” button as shown in Figure 3.1L.

3.1.12 Please type in your TP Student Account ID, for example [email protected], and TP Student Account Password. Please click “OK” to connect to “TP-WIFI” network. (See Figure 3.1M)

3.2 User Guide for Windows 7 Users

3.2.1 You will need to access the “Network and Sharing Center” for the configuration. Please go to Control Panel from the start menu and click on “Network and Sharing Center”. In the new window, under the “Change your networking settings”, please click on the “Set up a new connection or network” as shown in Figure 3.2A.

3.2.2 In the new pop-up window, select “Manually connect to a wireless network” and click “Next”. (Figure 3.2B)

3.2.3 Please type in “TP-WIFI” on the Network name and select “WPA2-Enterprise” on Security type. Please select “AES” from the drop down menu on the Encryption type and click “Next” to continue as shown in Figure 3.2C.

3.2.4 “TP-WIFI” is now successfully added to your profile. Please click “Change connection settings” as in Figure 3.2D.

3.2.5 Please select the “Security” tab under “TP-WIFI Wireless Network Properties” and click “Settings” as shown in Figure 3.2E.

3.2.6 Under “Protected EAP Properties”, please uncheck the “Validate server certificate” box. Under the “Select Authentication Method”, please select “Configure”. (Figure 3.2F)

3.2.7 Please uncheck “Automatically use my Windows logon name and password” and click “OK” to accept the “EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties” setting. Click “OK” again to accept the “Protected EAP Properties” setting. (Figure 3.2G)

3.2.8 Please click on “Advanced settings”. (See Figure 3.2H)

3.2.9 Please check the “Specify authentication mode” and select “User or computer Authentication” from the drop down menu and click “OK” to accept the “Advanced settings” (Figure 3.2I). Click “OK” again and click “Close” thereafter.

3.2.10 On the bottom right corner of your desktop, please click on the icon to bring up the list of Wi-Fi connections. Please select “TP-WIFI” and click “Connect” as shown in Figure 3.2J.

3.2.11 Please type in your TP Student Account ID, for example [email protected], and TP Student Account Password. Please click “OK” to connect to “TP-WIFI” network. (Figure 3.2K)

3.3 User Guide for Mac OS Users

3.3.1 Left Click on the Wi-Fi Icon located at the top right of your mac to see the list of

available Wi-Fi SSID. Please click on “TP-WIFI” from the drop down list as in Figure 3.3A.

3.3.2 Please type in your TP Student Account ID, for example [email protected],

and TP Student Account Password. Please click “Join” to connect to TP-WIFI wireless

network. (See Figure 3.3B)

3.3.3 Once you have examined the “TP-WIFI” certificate, click “Continue”. (Figure 3.3C)

3.3.4 Please verify your connection to “TP-WIFI” as shown in Figure 3.3D. A successful connected

is marked with a () mark near the “TP-WIFI”.

3.4 User Guide for iPhone/iPad Users

3.4.1 Please connect to “TP-WIFI” from the list of Wi-Fi SSID listed by going to Settings>Wi-Fi.

Please click on the Wi-Fi Radio button to turn on Wi-Fi. (See Figure 3.4A)

3.4.2 In the pop-up window, please type in your TP Student Account ID, for example [email protected], and TP Student Account Password. Please click “Join” as shown in Figure 3.4B.

3.4.3 Please select “Accept” to continue connection to “TP-WIFI” network in the pop-up window as

shown in Figure 3.4C.

3.4.4 Please verify your connection to “TP-WIFI” as shown in Figure 3.4D. A successful connected is marked with a () mark near the “TP-WIFI”.

3.5 User Guide for Android Users

3.5.1 Please connect to “TP-WIFI” from the list of Wi-Fi SSID listed by going to Settings>Wi-Fi as

shown in Figure 3.5A.

3.5.2 In the new pop-up window, please type in your TP Student Account ID, for example [email protected], in the “Identify” field and type in your TP Student Account Password in the “Password” field. Please click “Connect” as shown in Figure 3.5B to proceed.
