Overview  Two Methods for Tracking Adoption

Track Salesforce1 Logins using the Salesforce1 Adoption Dashboard and Reports AppExchange Package Track specific Actions using Custom Fields and Default Values on Custom Actions

Salesforce1 Adoption Dashboard and Reports  AppExchange Package

 Install this package from http://bit.ly/s1adoption to get a set of reports & dashboards for tracking who logs in when, and from what app (iOS vs Android)

 Create a checkbox that is automatically populated to track creation of records through Salesforce1 Custom Actions

 Create a timestamp field to track when records are modified through Salesforce1 Custom Actions

Track Actions Executed Within Salesforce1

 Setup à Customize à Object (here we use Opportunity) à Fields à New Custom Field

Track Records Created Within Salesforce1  Step 1: Create a Custom Field (type: checkbox) on the object you would like to track

 Global Action: Setup à Create à Global Actions à Actions  Contextual Action: Setup à Customize à Object à Buttons, Links and Actions

Track Records Created Within Salesforce1  Step 2: Create (or modify) a Custom Action to create a new record of that type

 From a Custom Action à Edit Layout Button

Track Records Created Within Salesforce1  Step 3: Add the custom checkbox to the Custom Action Layout

 From a Custom Action à New Predefined Field Value

Track Records Created Within Salesforce1  Step 4: Set the default value to TRUE

 Now, whenever a user creates a new record using your Custom Action, the “Created in Salesforce1” checkbox will automatically be checked!  Create reports using this field to see:

•  The number of new records being created from within Salesforce1

•  The proportion created via mobile vs the browser

Pro Tip: Use the Created Date field in conjunction with this one to track mobile trends

Track Records Updated Within Salesforce1  Step 1: Create a Custom Field (type: date/time) on the object you would like to track

 Global Action: Setup à Create à Global Actions à Actions  Contextual Action: Setup à Customize à Object à Buttons, Links and Actions

Track Records Updated Within Salesforce1  Step 2: Create (or modify) a Custom Action to update the object

 From a Custom Action à Edit Layout Button

Track Records Updated Within Salesforce1  Step 3: Add the custom date/time field to the Custom Action Layout

 From a Custom Action à New Predefined Field Value

Track Records Updated Within Salesforce1  Step 4: Set the default value to NOW()

 Now, whenever a user updates a record using your Custom Action, the “Last Mod – Salesforce1” field will be automatically populated with the current time! Create reports using this field to see:

•  How often users are modifying records using Salesforce1

•  Usage trends over time
