IT dept attaches assets worth Rs 225 crore of retired UP IAS officer NEW DELHI, Mar 20: The Income Tax department has attached assets worth Rs 225 crore of retired Uttar Pradesh IAS officer Net Ram and his associates as part of an alleged tax evasion probe against them, officials said today. They said a provisional order under section 132(9B) (power to attach) of the I-T Act has been issued and 20 immovable assets in Delhi, Mumbai, Noida and Kolkata have been attached and three luxury cars -- a Mercedes and two Toyota Fortuners -- found at the residence of the officer in Lucknow, have been impounded. IT officials had swooped down on about a dozen premises in Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata and Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, linked to the 1979-batch Indian Administrative Service officer and his firms, on March 12, acting on "credible inputs" that the former top bureaucrat and his associates have made "accommodation or bogus entries of Rs 98.82 crore from Kolkata-based shell firms" in the past. Rs 2.03 crore in cash and jewellery valued at Rs 17.79 lakh has been seized by the department after the raids even as it recovered Montblanc pens valued at Rs 50 lakh and documents indicating 'benami' assets from the premises linked to the retired IAS officer, who served in top positions during BSP supremo Mayawati's chief ministership.(PTI) DAILY EXCELSIOR, JAMMU THURSDAY, MARCH 21, 2019 (PAGE 15) TRAFFIC POLICE OFFICE CITY JAMMU ADVISORY FOR COMMUTERS DURING HOLI FESTIVAL Holi festival is being celebrated on 21th March, 2019 and there will be huge rush on the roads especially of two wheelers. To facilitate smooth regulation of traffic and hassle free movement of vehicular traffic on the roads of City Jammu all the commuters are appealed to co-operate with traffic Police and obey the traf- fic rules for their safe journey moreover, follow- ing suggestions/advice be adhered to ease out frequent traffic congestion. a) Please restrict to lane driving and move in a single lane, b) Please do not try to overtake in any man- ner c) At junctions please wait for other vehicles to cross over the road and wait for your turn, otherwise it will be a creating point of traffic jam. d) Ensure to Park the vehicles in an orderly manner in the specified parking slot . e) Avoid Wrong / road side parking f) Please give way to Ambulances and Fire Tenders etc. g) Obey traffic signals. h) Avoid overloading in Pvt/Commercial vehi- cles by hanging at doors/stares & on the roofs of the vehicles i) Don't drive in intoxicated condition. j) Two wheeler riders shall wear crash helmet and avoid triple riding for their safety k) Avoid stunt driving by two wheelers. l) Don't throw colored/water filled balloons' on the vehicles plying on the roads. NEW DELHI, Mar 20: The Income Tax department has attached assets worth Rs 225 crore
