Two systems for high yield beet harvestDecide for yourself whether the 1- or 2-phase system matches your operation better. Excellent facilities: all machines offer extremely easy maintenance and service without compromising field performance. The utilisation of existing tractors reduces operating costs. 2-phase: You prepare your harvest perfectly with the high-performance leaf Defoliator BM 300/330. After the clean removal of the beet leaves, the optional
hydraulically driven rotating disc scalper performs the precise topping cut. 1-phase: You have a choice whether you want to traditionally separate your beet from the leaf and scalp it with the Front Topper FT 300. Or you can choose the much discussed defoliating of your beet and decide on the FM 300. The elevator harvester ROOTSTER 604 will take care of the digging, cleaning and transferring of the beet on all three models.

Clean defoliatingInline DefoliatorSteel flails on the first flail shaft
chop off the leaves. The following
two counter rotating cleaning
shafts make the final touch. A
rotating scalper unit is available
as an option.
Perfect depth controlFolding drawbarThe hydraulic folding drawbar with
its adjustable end stop and four
trailing wheels at the rear ensures
optimal depth guidance and easy
lift out. The direct drive of the
p.t.o.-shaft is handled by a durable
angle drive. A wide angle p.t.o.-shaft
is available as an option.
Flexible defoliatingAdjustable drawbarThe adjustable drawbar of the
leaf Defoliator BM 300/330 even
allows track widths of 3 instead
of 4 rows of beet – this permits
you to comfortable work in an
offset pattern behind the tractor.
BM 300/330: optimum harvest preparationWell-prepared for the harvest:
row by row. The leaf Defoliator
BM 300/330 chops and removes
the beet leaves across the entire
machine width. Even weeds
between the beet rows do not
pose a problem. Equipped with a
durable steel flail shaft, as well as
two non-wear cleaning shafts, the
machine operates reliably, prevents
blocking and provides for an entirely
smooth and clean harvesting
process. The BM 300/330 is
available in two working widths:
in Western Europe featuring
6 rows at 45–50 cm = 300 cm
as well as in Eastern Europe and
in the US at 6 x 56 cm = 330 cm.

Universal applicationInline topperEven under the most adverse
conditions, the topper and scalper
unit offers failure-free operation.
The leaves are chopped, deposited
inline between the rows rear of the
scalper unit. The scalper unit top
the beet heads.
Blockage free scalpingDeflector platesThe patented Inline leaf deposit
enables a blockage free scalping.
Deflectors guide the chopped
leaves behind the scalpers
between the rows.
Powerful and stableDefoliator shaftThe steel scoop flails convince
with a long service life and high
suction effect. The sturdy individual
suspension makes shaft and flail
insensitive to stones. The maximum
speed is 1300 r.p.m.
FT 300: 6-row Front TopperThe 6-row Inline Front Topper
FT 300: its patented operation
reliably avoids irritating blocking
in the scalper area and ensures
an optimised distribution of the
chopped leaf material. – Ideal
conditions for reduced soil
cultivation. The FT 300 can be
easily adjusted from 45 to 50 cm
row widths. The flail shaft was
designed to achieve a high cut
frequency even at lowest speeds.
Based on this special design, the
beet leaf is deposited behind the
individual suspended scalpers,
which perform their work precisely
in the “wind shadow” of the flail
shaft. This way, the scalpers
suspended individually in the
parallelogram can make a “clean”
cut due to the automatic scalping
height. The design of the machine
reduce the wearing immense
compared to traditional systems
with side discharge.

Intelligent harvestingInline Front MulcherThe defoliating system exhibits by
far the lowest losses in the beet's
crowning area. Two flail shafts fitted
to the FM and therefore a scalper
unit becomes void.
Complete defoliationMulti and cleaning shaftThe multi shaft (1) is fitted with
a combination of steel and rubber
flails. The short steel flails chop
off the beet leaves while the longer
rubber flails gently defoliate the
beet crown from the rear. Rubber
flails, which gently defoliate the
beet from the front, are fitted on
the 2nd shaft (2).
FM 300: 6-row Front MulcherThe Grimme innovation – the 6-row
Inline Front Mulcher FM 300:
Thanks to the highest possible
work quality with its compact
design, the beet leaves are
removed gently and perfectly.
The FM 300 is integrated into the
front hydraulics and performs its
tasks in a sophisticated manner:
Its two patented multi and
cleaning shafts run in opposite
directions and are optimised in
their interaction. Following, the
trailed ROOTSTER 604 harvests
the beet. The result: up to 10 % higher yield per hectare compared
to the traditional system with the
flail topper and scalper and better
beet storing based on the reduced
breathing losses.
