President’s MessageHi Neighbors, As we enter our third month of the CoronaVirus Pandemic, it is still awesome to see so many neighbors enjoying the Valley with their families. Neighbors are walking, biking, jogging, roller blading, saddle riding, etc. We are so lucky to be living in a place where we can get out and enjoy the sunshine and our beautiful ranch proper-ties. I do not want to even imagine how it would be to live in an apartment or condo and had to actually remain indoors for these months. The state is beginning to re-open, traffic is increasing on the roads and places are becoming more crowded. Please drive carefully through the Valley as so many neighbors are using our road-ways – and be careful when driving around the County – some people have not been driving for months, and they are a little rusty at best. I would also like to give a special thanks to so many of the kids and teens of the Val-ley I have witness fishing and riding their bikes, 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, and side-by-side vehicles with the utmost respect for their neighborhood. This crisis has caused an unprecedented, significant, and immediate change in their day-to-day lives, and we need to praise how they adapted so quickly and positively to it. Now the “home school” year is over and summer break is here, so it will be great to see them enjoy everything the Valley has to offer. Hopefully, there will not be a resurgence of the virus and things can get back to some form of normal. Although, it looks like many things we enjoyed doing may never be the same. Time will tell. At this point, we will suspend our Monthly Board meeting for June, and until we feel the Board and our members can assemble safe-ly. Please know that each Board member is continuing to perform their responsibili-ties so that our HOA is functioning seamlessly. Our hope is that sometime this year we can have an Annual Member’s Meeting, so we will inform everyone if it can take place. As always, please call me if you have any questions or concerns. Unfortunately, we did not have a May issue of the Trails n’ Tales. Between the can-celled Annual Meeting, cancelled monthly Board Meetings and our publisher Lynn Reid moving out of the Valley, it just made sense to suspend the May issue. All ad-vertisers will have one more month added to their advertising agreement. Also, the Board is experimenting with adding color to our Trails n’ Tales publication, so you will notice color photos in this issue. Our goal is to offer affordable color display ads that will improve the quality of the ads, increase customer responses for the adver-tisers, and increase the revenue our HOA receives from this publication. Throughout this month, we will be contacting all our advertisers to discuss this exciting change. Our 4th of July Parade and Breakfast Picnic will sadly be cancelled this year. After several discussions with the Event Committee, there is still too much unknown with this virus and there is no way we want any of our neighbors put at risk. Our plan is to have our Halloween Trick-or-Treat event in October and our Holiday events as well, so keep an eye out for updates. Cont p 3

Safety # 2As I said last month, unless you have a serious need to buy or sell real estate, now is not the time. With so many unemployed & the future uncertain, there are not many buyers around & for safety reasons, there are fewer houses on the market.

That said, if you must buy or sell, I will be glad to help with a valuation on your property (though future prices are a bit uncertain), or help you find the right place (which can be done mostly on-line). Otherwise, please stay home and stay healthy.

We spoke with Gator Paving, and it looks like they will be able to return to the Valley this month to work on the easements with fill dirt and grass seed along the edge of the roadway, paint yellow strip lines at the center of the curves with reflectors, paint white strip lines at each stop sign intersection, re-steamroll any imperfections on the roads, and finish any additional drainage work and culvert cleanouts along the easements. Prior to the crisis, Gator was working on an implementation plan and schedule to address Valley neighbor’s driveway bids and to perform the paving work for those who decide to move forward with them. They are planning to revisit that project over the next few months. I will say the final jet-black smooth topcoat for the first phase of the Road Project does look great! I hope you are all happy with the project so far. We will keep you up to date on when the second phase of our Road Project will begin. Our Road Committee and Saddle Trail Committee members work extremely hard and sacrifice their time to ensure our roads and trails are being taken care of for each and every neighbor in the Valley to use and enjoy. Unlike most neighborhoods in Sarasota, we do not have clubhouses, swimming pools, or tennis courts – what we do have is – our Roads and our Trails – and they are our most valuable assets in the Valley. So, I would like to again thank them, and we look forward to our next Volun-teer Day to clean-up our Parks and trails We all need to do what is in our power to be part of the solution during this crisis. In time, this will pass. What I do know about our Valley is that when there is a crisis, we are always there to help one another. Our relief efforts during Hurricane Irma was amazing! Our roads and driveways were cleared within hours. So, if anyone needs any help, please do not hesitate to ask - as I am confident our neighbors will be there for each other. As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Again, thank you all for your support, and for your confidence in everything your Board does for the Valley – which would have never happened if there was not a united Board, and for the support of you - our neighbors. Thank you, Frank DiCicco, MVRIA President

ChangesI like to say, “You make your plans and then life happens.”

I moved into the Valley in November of 2005. My daughter and I were thrilled to live in an equine community and soon after got our 1st horses. We met other horse riders and made life-long friends.

My daughter grew up and moved to Orlando to attend UCF. She has graduated and makes her home in Mt. Dora.

As for me, I planned to remain in the Valley riding the trails and enjoying this par-adise. But, life happened and now I am heading in another direction. I am excited about my new life, but am sad to be leaving this wonderful community. Myakka Valley Ranches is unique with so much to offer. The social events, neighbors and peacefulness is not common in today’s cookie cutter developments. It is truly a par-adise and I hope it will remain as charming and blessed in it’s future.

Til we meet again, Lynn Reid

Installation Fee Reduced During Corona Virus Pandemic

With the massive increase of people needing to work from home and home school, we made the decision to not only suspend the usage thresholds, but to also reduce the set-up fee from $ 350 to $ 100 until things return to normal.

We are bringing on another crew to help the backlog of in-stalls and will continue to add crews until everyone has in-ternet.

As alsways, if anyone needs extra time to pay the$ 100 in-stall, we can break this up over several months.

This is a difficult time for everyone and we hope this will re-lieve some stress. If you have any questions or would like to sign up, please call us at 941-322-2916 or go to the website & click on documents, then residential contract.
