WEEK LONG SUMMER CAMPS & CLINICS

All Day Skills Training Camp: $655 The All Day Skills Training Camp is our most popular day camp featuring our new state of the art off ice training center with synthetic ice for shooting and stickhandling, and our USA Hockey Dryland Training Center with Russian boxes, slide boards for extension and recovery and much more! This extensive camp offers 4 hours of on ice skill development and 2 hours off ice work each day. Campers should bring a change of clothes and sneakers. LUNCH IS PROVIDED!

Half Day Skills Camp: $450 NEW! This camp features 90 minutes of on ice skills training followed by one hour in the Twin Rinks Skills Center focused on improving lateral movement, explosive speed and agility. Campers then return to the ice for another 90 minute session focused on small area games, battling and more!

Elite Skills Camp with Matt Moulson and Victor Baryshevtsev: $695 / August 13–17 Learn from the Pros! This full day camp focuses on developing individual talent and learning the skills that separate players at the highest level. Work with Matt Moulson on the puck skills needed to be an elite player and also get to learn skating skills from our power skating guru and Olympic level skater Victor Baryshevtsev. The most experienced coaching staff for a full day, week long camp in the tri-state area! LUNCH IS PROVIDED!

Pro Skills Camp with Cam Atkinson: $375 / Dates TBD Learn from one of the top young players in the NHL! Cam has proved to be an impact player at every level he has played, he will teach players the skills necessary to get to the next level. Cam brings a lot of passion and energy to his camp.

Future Stars Camp: $125 7 and under camp for players that can fall and get up on their own. Future Stars is a camp focused on developing skating and basic hockey skills in a fun environment that will enhance confidence.

Pro Private: $495 This 1:1 student: teacher ratio allows players to design their camp and target specific skills. Coaches can isolate player’s deficiencies and assets.

Defense and Checking: $350 This camp focuses on developing skills that help any player defend better including making a good first pass, gap control, escapes, stick checks, body checks and angling. This camp will also focus on breakouts and transitioning quickly from defense to offense by joining the rush. Body checking and angling will also be addressed with proper technique.

Mike Backman Camp: $390 This high intensity skill camp focuses on developing individual skills. Mike has coached countless players that have gone on to successful college and pro careers. Mike’s knowledge of the game is unmatched in the tristate area.

Battle Camp: $350 If you can win 1 vs 1 battles, you’ll end up with the puck. Players work on puck protection, body positioning, take aways, board battles and stick control.

Power Hockey: $275 Win the race to the loose pucks. This camp emphasizes leg extension and recovery, quick starts and change of direction, gliding, striding and speed through your transition. This camp also addresses how to maintain speed with the puck and use body positioning to maintain control and be more effective and powerful with the puck.

Shooting to Score Camp: $350 Proper hand position and modern puck handling techniques at top speed are essential for young player’s development. This camp will stress quick release on shot while developing the ability to shoot in any situation, wrist shot, snap shot, slap shot and backhand shot with your head up.

Small Games: $275 Fun on skates! Players work hard and learn how to compete playing soccer, bandy, ball hockey, 1 vs 1, 3 vs 3, and more games on ice!

Total Skills Camp: $275 Great camp for young players to develop skating, shooting, passing and team play. This camp will cover every skill set and focus on developing each players overall skills.

GOALTENDING CAMPS:

Jonathan Quick Goalie Camp: $350 – 3 hours (One day) – Dates TBD

This all ages camp provides the unique opportunity to not only meet but also get tips from one of the best goaltenders in the world!

Jonathan Quick along with experienced goalie coaches from Connecticut Crease will lead this 3 hour clinic for goaltenders.

Goaltending Camp with CT Crease: $450 (Week long) Learn the fundamentals of stopping pucks with the goaltending gurus of Connecticut Crease. Skating, lateral movement, rebound control, angles, butterfly, puck handling. This 3 hour camp features a 1 hour session each day with Performance 20/20 who specialize in developing vision training, reaction time followed by 2 hours of on ice instruction with Connecticut Crease. PLUS: any goalie attending this camp, can attend any other camp as a goalie for free!

WEEKLY SUMMER CLINICS:Monday Night THD Elite College with Chris Gragnano: INVITE ONLY Weekly skate for current and incoming NCAA D1 and D3 players, this clinic is invite only. To inquire about this clinic please contact Chris Gragnano at [email protected]

Monday Night Pond Hockey! June 18–August 20: $250 for 12 sessions or $30 per session Every week 7-8:30PM on Tuesday night’s players from squirt-bantam are invited to come skate in a fun pond hockey style scrimmage. Games will be coordinated by Hockey Department staff and will vary week to week with full ice games, small area games and fun competitions!

Tuesday Night High School Clinic with Tucker Grose - $450 for 10 sessions / $60 walk up This weekly camp is for motivated current and incoming high school players looking to stay in shape and enhance their skills during the off season. Tucker Grose is currently the Head Coach of Trinity Catholic in Stamford and has previously coached 3 years with Newtown High School and 2 years with the King School in Stamford.

For over 20 years, Twin Rinks Summer Hockey Programs have provided the highest level of coaching along with elite training for players of all ages and abilities. It’s Twin Rink’s mission to provide superior hockey instruction for motivated players who want to reach their potential. Twin Rinks continues to set the standard of excellence in Summer Camps.

Hockey Director Mike Backman has assembled an elite coaching staff of veteran local coaches in addition to several elite NHL stars who are passionate about passing on their knowledge and skills to the next generation of hockey players.

TRAIN WHERE THE PROS TRAINTwin Rinks is proud to announce that our STATE OF THE ART OFF-ICE TRAINING FACILITY featuring Kwik Rink synthetic ice and USA Hockey dryland training center will be utilized in our summer camps. Campers will have the opportunity to develop their shooting and stickhandling on our synthetic ice sheet as well as work on their strength and speed in our training center.

MIKE BACKMAN is a former New York Ranger and has been the hockey director at Twin Rinks for 21 years coaching countless youth teams to state and regional championships. Many players who have played for Mike have gone on to play in the NCAA and the NHL including Max Pacioretty of the Montreal Canadiens, William Nylander of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ben Smith of the Toronto Maple Leafs and many more. Mike founded the CT Condors Development program in 2016.

JONATHAN QUICK currently in his 10th season with the LA Kings, Jon played his youth hockey right here at Twin Rinks before a standout career at the University of Massachusetts. Jonathan was the starting goalie for the US Olympic team in 2012 and is a two time Stanley cup champion with the Kings. Jonathan was awarded the Conn Smyth Trophy as the MVP of the 2012 NHL playoffs.

CAM ATKINSON A Connecticut native, Cam is currently is in his 7th season with the Columbus Blue Jackets and he was named to the 2017 NHL All Star Game. Cam broke the 30 goal mark for the first time in 2016-17, finishing with 35 goals! Cam grew up playing his youth hockey in Connecticut before going on to a stellar career at Avon Old Farms and Boston College.

MATT MOULSON In his 10 year NHL career, Matt has topped the 30 goal mark 3 times. Matt has played with the LA Kings, Minnesota Wild, NY Islanders and Buffalo Sabres and is currently playing for the Ontario Reign in the AHL. Matt has tallied 369 points in his NHL career.

SEAN BACKMAN spent 4 years with the Yale Bulldogs where his 77 career goals stand as 2nd all time. Sean currently plays for Eisbaren Berlin in the DEL. Sean won the Calder Cup as AHL champion in 2015 with the Manchester Monarchs and was selected to the AHL All Star Game in 2016. Sean has tallied 263 points in his 8 year pro career.

TUCKER GROSE is currently the Assistant Hockey Director at Twin Rinks. Tucker has coached youth hockey and high school hockey for the past 5 years and he was named the WCYHA Coach of the year in 2013-14, coached the Newtown High School hockey team to a state championship in 2014 and is currently the Head Coach at Trinity Catholic in Stamford. Tucker currently coaches the Bantam A team for Darien Youth Hockey and coaches with the CT Condors Development Program.

KEVIN ERVING played his prep hockey at St. Marks before going on to play ACHA at St. Lawrence University. Kevin currently works in the hockey department at Twin Rinks and coaches individual players from beginner to elite. Kevin has coached teams in youth hockey and high school for 5 years. Kevin led the Darien Mite A1 team to a state championship in 2017 and also coaches with the CT Condors Development Program.

CHRIS GRAGNANO played at Christian Brothers Academy in NJ before going on to stints with Providence College and with the Green Mountain Glades of the EJHL. Since 2007 he has coached many nationally ranked youth teams, has won Regional championships and brought teams to nationals. Beginning in 2015, Chris was hired as an assistant coach at The Gunnery and in his time there they have won an Elite 8 New England Championship (‘16), the Watkins Tournament (‘16) and the Avon Christmas Classic (‘17).Chris has been a skills instructor in the area over the last 10 years and is the owner of Total Hockey Development. Throughout the year Chris trains many high level players from prep schools, junior programs and colleges as well as professionals that play in Europe, ECHL, AHL and the NHL.

BRETT BACKMAN grew up playing youth hockey locally in Fairfield County before playing his prep hockey at Avon Old Farms. Brett completed 2 years of juniors most recently with the CT Oilers in 2016-17 season in which he tallied 18 goals and 20 assists in 45 games played. Brett will start his college career in the fall of 2017 at Plymouth State University.

BRETT FARSON played prep hockey at Philips Andover and then moved on to Amherst College. He has been coaching youth hockey for 12 years and currently the hockey director with the Greenwich Blues. Brett is currently the head coach of the Rye Country Day School who he led to a conference championship in 2017.

VICTOR BARYSHEVTSEV is the pioneer of Russian hockey skating techniques. Victor was an alternate on the 1988 Russian Olympic Team. He has trained NHL players Max Pacioretty, Artem Anisimov, Matt Moulson and more.

CHRIS ARDITO One of the original members of CT Crease, Chris has been coaching goalies of all ages and abilities for 14 years. Chris has also coached at the collegiate level. From 2008 – 2012 Chris served as assistant and goalie coach for Southern Connecticut State University and has served as goalie coach for the Yale University Women’s Ice Hockey Team since September 2012.
