T R A I N I N GP R O G R A M M E
COVID-19: Virtual LearningDue to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Hampshire Safeguarding ChildrenPartnership (HSCP) suspended all face-to-face training last year. To ensure frontlineprofessionals could continue accessing safeguarding training during the pandemic,the HSCP launched the hugely successful virtual multi-agency learning platformconsisting of virtual courses, webinars, workshops, and e-learning materials.
Courses are provided free of charge to all professionals working with families andchildren who live in the Hampshire Local Authority area.
This year’s training brochure focuses on virtual delivery, which will continue to formpart of the HSCP’s approach to training. Moving forwards, face-to-face training willbe incorporated back into the programme to provide a more ‘blended’ approach, asand when it becomes safe to do so.
What courses do you offer?HSCP offers a wide variety of fully-funded multi-agency events, including virtualcourses, webinars, workshops and e-learning materials. These events bringprofessionals together to develop knowledge and skills, and emphasise the benefitsof working together to deliver positive outcomes for children and families.
How can I book on HSCP training?Courses are available to browse and book on the HSCP Events Booking Page. Eachmember of staff wishing to attend multi-agency safeguarding training must hold anaccount. New accounts can be set up on the Registration section of the EventsBooking Page. Please note that you cannot book multiple tickets for the samecourse or book on another person's behalf; an individual account needs to becreated for each person that is attending the training.
It is important when setting up an account that staff select the correct sector andorganisation from the drop-down menu. If your organisation is not listed, pleasecontact [email protected].

All organisations working with children and familiesare responsible for ensuring that their staff andvolunteers are confident and competent in carryingout their responsibilities for safeguarding children.
Staff should have access to appropriatedevelopment opportunities to ensure they have theknowledge and skills to identify and respond toabuse and neglect. HSCP will hold agencies toaccount in their efforts to ensure that all staff andvolunteers working with children and/or theirparents/carers are trained in safeguarding to anappropriate level. HSCP commissions and delivers multi-agency eventsto complement in-house training. Staff should determine, with their line manager, the courses best suited to their role or those which theyare required to attend.
Multi-agency Safeguarding Events Multi-agency training supports professionals in developing a shared understanding of decisionmaking in respect of safeguarding children. Multi-agency events bring professionals together todevelop knowledge and skills, emphasising thebenefits of working together to deliver positiveoutcomes for children and families
