NDRF TRAINING
Training plays an essential role in enhancing the efficiency and expertise of the
responders. NDRF personnel undergo variety of training where emphasis is given on gaining
basic knowledge of the disaster response to refreshing the skill acquired as well as to raise the
expertise level to cope up with the technological advancements in the field of disaster
management in the world. Continuous training is imperative for maintaining our skills as per the
international standards. It is the rigours of training that bring out the best in each responder’s
skills. It also helps responders to shape their attitude for extremely difficult and treacherous
circumstances in disaster situations. Training is not only confined to gaining knowledge and
experience oneself, rather it also includes sharing the same knowledge with other
stakeholders, including the public, by various methods like conducting community awareness
programme, organising Lectures, demonstrations and mock exercises; so as to enable them to
be self empowered in managing their own disaster response mechanisms and become the first
responders in right earnest.
