What is the course about?
This ten day programme combines much of the learning from EA Technologys
extensive range of specialist, technical short courses to give you a comprehensiveintroduction to all aspects of power systems engineering in networks up to 132kV.
Over the ten days, you will learn about each stage of electrical power systems andtheir management, from the history and background of the UK power industry andcurrent regulations, standards and best practice, through a comprehensive reviewof equipment such as cables, transformers, switchgear, and overhead lines, to anunderstanding of how to combine these elements in substations and networks.
The course will also cover asset management, protection and failure investigation, including the latest Condition Based Risk Management techniques being developed
at EA Technology and the growing field of embedded generation.
The course is delivered by industry leading experts in each field and will giveyou a true perspective on real life operations through course visits to a cablemanufacturer, the control room of a local electricity company grid station and aCHP generation site or pump storage power station.
