FEEDBACK FROM INSTITUTE
Dr. S. K. Vaish, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic, Bareilly educational Institute expressed enthusiasm over
conducting the said training program. The faculty and staff of the college were very supportive and actively
involved to ensure smooth conduct of the training program which they perceived to be highly beneficial
He inspired the students to follow the details of the course and directed them to prepare individual project reports
thereby announcing during the session that the finest project report shall receive financial support to set up a
banana ripening chamber.
He opined that such trainings are quintessential for the youth as it prepares them to undertake an active and
successful career in agriculture sector
The staff and participants were very encouraged to know about the financial assistance and in fact the chairman
himself came forward to make available additional financial assistance.
FEEDBACK FROM TRAINEES
The participants were highly impressed by the Bhujipura Agro Products Pvt. Ltd. Ripening Chamber having state
of the art modern facility. The officials of Bhujipura Agro Products Pvt. Ltd. Ripening Chamber showed them
around the whole unit explaining in detail the Sorting, grading lines, machinery and controls, ripening chambers.
The trainees found that the entire information shared very informative and majority of the participants were of the
view that this skill would be useful to them in the near future.
They opined that the plant visit has enlightened and encouraged them to undertake agricultural activity as a full
time business/profession.
The training program has provided practical hands on experience and was very helpful in understanding the
operations of ripening chamber and how the Government is actively available to support the cause. The efforts
made by NCCD in organizing the program at Govt Polytechnic were appreciated by all.
FEEDBACK FROM FACULTY
The faculty was keen to ensure that a drive should be undertaken to make non carbide ripened fruits easily
identifiable to the public at large
The faculty was very keen to spread awareness about the harmful effects of carbide and encourage people
to use natural ripening.
They appreciated the efforts of the government and NCCD.
They thanked NCCD and ICE for organizing the visit to Bhujipura Agro Products Pvt. Ltd. Ripening
Chamber which was an excellent learning experience for the students as well as the faculty.
They wanted the training to have a mention about the proven ways of identifying carbide ripened fruits.

“Entreprenuer Development and Skill training for Ripening Chambers”
Govt. Polytechnic, Bareilly: As per the agenda of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi,
Agriculture is the driving force of the economy. The government is laying special emphasis on development of
the agriculture sector and encouraging the citizens to come up with projects and businesses to support this sector.
The Ministry of Agriculture has introduced a Two Day training program on “Entrepreneur Development and Skill
training for Ripening Chambers” throughout the country. The course will be offered by Ministry of Agriculture,
Government of India (Carried out by National Centre for Cold Chain development (NCCD)-the nodal
government of India body for cold chain along with ICE- Centre of Excellence).
The training is aimed at imparting education and awareness regarding the modern methods of Fruit Ripening,
hazards of Carbide Ripened fruits and the support available from the government to set up fruit ripening
chambers.
The workshop was successfully conducted in Govt. Polytechnic, Bareilly, on 08th
& 09th
February 2016 in
collaboration with Govt. Polytechnic, Bareilly. The workshop was attended by the students, Faculties and the
entrepreneurs and was a great learning experience for all.
PREPARATION FOR THE SESSIONS
After receiving the approvals for conducting trainings from National Centre for Cold Chain Development
(NCCD), we contacted Govt. Polytechnic to give wide publicity about the training program. The institute was
positive and gave immense support and encouragement to ensure that the program is successful
One of the biggest ripening chambers in eastern UP situated in Bhoji Pura, Bareilly having state of the art
technology was contacted. They were keen to showcase their facility to the participants. Mr. Deepak, Manager of
the ripening units respectively Co-ordinate effectively with the organizers to ensure participation by all concerned
in the industry.
The related companies, agriculture universities and bank representatives were contacted for the lectures to be
imparted during the training. They were extremely enthusiastic and to be part of the training.
AGENDA: GENERATION OF EMPLOYMENT AND ENTERPRENURIAL
OPPORTUNITIES
The objective of the program was to:
Create awareness about the entrepreneurial opportunities available in Ripening Chambers
Develop Skill for ripening Chambers
Train Human resources in banana ripening technology
Educate the trainees about the harmful effects of Carbide ripened fruits
Educate the trainees in real time conditions to give them hands o experience
Promotion of standards, scientific procedures and best practices in banana ripening.
Assist in providing employment opportunities to the trained candidates through our existing network of
promoters of banana ripening chambers.
Educate the potential entrepreneurs about
o The financial viability of setting up a Banana ripening chamber.
o The Technical standards on Banana Ripening established by Ministry of Agriculture.
o New MIDH guidelines and financial assistance available
o Financial assistance available from Indian Banks
Provide feedback concerning future training needs, and participate in the design of annual training
activities.
The prospective employers i.e.: ripening chamber owners allowed practical trainings in their facility and actively
participated with the trainees, and clears the doubts of trainees during the practical session. The participants were
banana growers and agricultural graduates who were made aware about the benefits of entering the field of
agriculture.
They have been registered in our database and will be in touch for the preparation of DPRs etc.
Actual employment generated will be monitored and reported to the NCCD
