OPENING1{GROUP
Talking points: (15-20 minutes) – This is a time to welcome the children and introduce them to the Bible content for the session. There will usually be two activity suggestions and one transition activity to help the children move into Large Group. One of these activities will be labeled “Low Prep.” In this session this is an activity page introducing the concept of God’s creation of people. The second activity involves minimal preparation, but some. Boys and girls have the opportunity to create things out of play dough. Then, a transition activity helps the kids move into the Large Group experience. During this time the kids are introduced to the Big Picture question and utilize movement along with counting to the number 7 (the number of the days of creation and God’s rest).

BIBLE STUDY2 {GROUP
Talking points: (10-15 minutes) – Bible study begins with music. The teacher is encouraged to use one of the songs on the CD (or down-load) and one song to a familiar tune. As a “hook” for listening to the Bible story, kids are challenged to listen for the word
The teacher has a choice as to whether she wants to tell the Bible story or use the Bible story video that is on the DVD (or available via download.) As the children watch and listen for the word “good,” they are encouraged to sign the “good” when they hear it in the story. Show the group of teachers the Bible story video for session 1 on Creation. Encourage them to use the sign for “good” during the story!
Bible story review involves review questions, introduction of the Big Picture Question and Answer, and, a time of showing the boys and girls where the story of creation fits on the timeline poster.
Children conclude Large Group by using the number 7 (7 steps, 7 hops, etc.) to move into Small Group ACTIVITIES.

The activities can be set up in centers, on table tops, or on the floor. Teachers may choose how the activities are enjoyed: the whole group doing each one together; children rotating from activity to activity; or, the children choosing the ones they like and move from one to another as they maintain interest. The activities for this session are:
