Climate in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is tropical, with distinct dry and wet seasons. The seasons are slightly complicated by having two
monsoons. From May to August the Yala monsoon brings rain to the island‘s southwestern half, while the dry
season here lasts from December to March. The southwest has the highest rainfall – up to 4000mm a year. The
Maha monsoon blows from October to January, bringing rain to the North and East, while the dry season is from
May to September. The North and East are comparatively dry, with around 1000mm of rain annually. There is also
an inter-monsoonal period in October and November when rain can occur in many parts of the island.
Colombo and the low-lying coastal regions have an average temperature of 27°C. At Kandy (altitude 500m), the
average temperature is 20°C, while Nuwara Eliya (at 1889m) has a temperate 16°C average. The sea stays at
around 27°C all year.
Climatically speaking, the driest (and best) seasons in Sri Lanka are from December to March for the west coast, the
south coast and the Hill Country, and from April to September for the ancient cities region and the east coast.
December through March are also the months when most foreign tourists visit, the majority of them escaping the
European winter. During the Christmas to New Year holiday season, in particular, accommodation anywhere on the
island can be tight due to the huge influx of foreign visitors.

The initial multi engine endorsement gives you a grounding into the basic handling and operation of a multi
engine aircraft. In its raw form, the endorsement is simply an extension, or add on to your current license.
i.e if you have a day VFR license then the endorsement simply allows you to fly the aircraft you are endorsed on
during daylight hours. Multi engine endorsements are specific to each aircraft. In other words a Seneca
endorsement does not allow you to fly a Seminole, or vice versa until you have completed a specific
endorsement in that aircraft. The reason being that each multi engine aircraft has specific operating systems and
performance criteria that are unique to that aircraft and as the pilot of that aircraft you need to be trained in how
to use and manage those systems. For example, some aircraft have counter rotating propellers, while others have
contra rotating propellers, some have one fuel tank, others have multiple fuel tanks etc.
The initial endorsement focuses on the aircraft systems and performance figures specific to the Piper Seneca. A
requirement for each and every multi engine endorsement is that you complete a comprehensive engineering
paper, which will highlight all of the relevant information for that aircraft to you.
The operation of an aircraft on one engine, or asymmetric flight is generally something that you can apply to any
multi engine aircraft, so long as you know and understand the systems and performance criteria specific to the
aircraft you are flying. As part of your flight training you will learn how to recognize an engine failure, identify
which engine has failed, and in turn manage the failed engine, the operating engine and the other aircraft systems
in general
Course Contents
15 Hours Aircraft Specific Ground Training
Minimum 7 Hours of Flight Training on Piper Seneca III
Depending on National Requirements candidates can choose to do between 7 to 25 Hours of Multi Training. Our
general program includes 10 hours of Twin Engine Training and 25 Hours is included in the 225 Hour Package
Multi Engine Endorsement
