Infrastructure: 2.8 km (1.8 km of it on German territory)
Operating: every 15 min between Weil am Rhein
(Germany), Basel city center and Basel train station
SBB, more frequent operating possible
Benefit: high benefit due to shift of about 1500 car rides
per weekday to public transportation; economic benefit
due to strengthening the business location Basel
Costs: 104 Mio. CHF (incl. reconstruction and
measures for heavy traffic): Swiss state 43 Mio. CHF,
Canton of Basel-Stadt 38 Mio. CHF, several
german/european partner 14 Mio. Euro.
