Dear Friends,
As we sum up 2016, I want to take this opportunity to turn the focus to you, our amazing donors, sponsors, board members, and volunteers.
It is because of YOU that we have been able to expand our work, creating so many more opportunities for our students.
Often we think of education as the task of learning specific topics and skills, but in addition, it is an amazing journey that opens your mind to things that you have not been exposed to before. It builds social skills, teaches problem solving, creative thinking, stability, values and discipline—a true personal development. It is a critical tool that will guide the decisions made through the rest of a student’s life, giving them the tools they need to create a successful life.
Your involvement makes this journey a possibility. Many would never experience this life altering experience without your help.
You change lives and create a significant impact on the community that will be felt for years to come.
We humbly thank you for your partnership, and ask that you will consider continuing your involvement and hopefully even find it worthwhile to expand your participation.
The Foundation has significant plans to expand our programs in 2017, and your involvement makes it possible. We look forward to working with you and transforming lives. Thank you for your participation.
With gratitude,
Susanne Johnson Director EMS Education Foundation

Message from the ChairmanIt was an honor to serve as Chairman of the Board during 2016. On behalf of the Eagle Mountain Saginaw Education Foundation Board of Directors, let me extend my sincere appreciation to the many people that helped make this another successful year on so many levels. This would not have been possible without the generosity of our donors, the help of the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School district’s Board of Directors, faculty and staff, and the Foundation Executive Director, Susanne Johnson. With your assistance we were once again able to enhance the learning environment of the students of the EMS ISD.
The commitment of everyone involved allowed the Education Foundation to continue providing assistance to many students and faculty. The positive impact of which will surely be felt for many years and aid in greater accomplishments for future.
Your continued support of the goals set out by the Education Foundation is greatly appreciated and necessary for our ongoing efforts as we step into a new year.
I am excited about the possibilities the new year brings and the leadership of Gary Austin as he takes on the challenge of being the Chairman of the Board for 2017.
Gratefully,
Robert AndersonChairman

Willow Creek Elementary School has been a consistent model of philanthropic giving. For the last six years, everyone on campus has participated in the campaign. When asked how they manage to do it, Amanda Maxwell, Care Captain, explained that they have created a campus-wide environment of serving others. “Everyone takes great pride in that,” Amanda said.
Willow Creek was not the only amazing campus. Several campuses were right on their heels, and we applaud all the amazing teams at Eagle Mountain Elementary, Remington Point Elementary, Saginaw Elementary, Creekview Middle School, Elkins Middle School, Wayside Middle School, Boswell High School, and Watson High School.
District-wide 1400 employees participated in the campaign. It is truly humbling to be a part of such an amazing group of people, creating unique opportunities for their students. The EMS ISD is a true cornerstone of this community.
