Multicenter Research Collaborations Subcommittee
Main objectives• To stimulate multicenter collaboration on CMR research (US & non‐US)• Share new ideas/study proposals• To encourage projects that will fill major gaps in our knowledge of CMR for pediatric/congenital heart disease
• Determine barriers to research and address them• Evaluate options to facilitate data sharing
Multicenter Research Collaborations Subcommittee• The Research Subcommittee will meet :
• in‐person meeting at SCMR conference • quarterly by Webex meetings
• If you would like to participate as a member of the Subcommittee or would like to participate in any other form, please email both of us.

• 19 current members
• Create large multi-centre sets of paediatric and congenital CMR data, to train algorithms and machine learning programmes.
• Facilitate multi-centre trials of machine learning technologies, specific to paediatric and congenital CMR.
• Encourage dissemination of machine learning tools into the community, and aid clinical uptake.
Machine learning
• Primarily focus on vascular and whole heart segementation
• Vascular repository – MR/CT angiography
• Vascular segmentation, measurements and classification
• Including thoracic Aorta / complex PA / Aortopothy / Bicuspid Ao
• Explore data compliant repositories
• Link to 3D printing community
• Data I/O

Quality Improvement: Goals
• Identify and develop quality metrics (structural and process metrics) specific to pediatric and congenital CMR
• Implement quality initiatives based on the metrics developed
• Assess the cost of quality and adopting best practice in pediatrics and congenital CMR
Quality Improvement:Current Projects
• Practice variations• Use of sedation and general anesthesia (GA) in pediatric and adult congenital CMR
• Factors that might affect the use of sedation/GA • 3 phone conferences so far and survey in final stages expect an email from [email protected]
• Standardized reporting • Reached out to ACC quality network since already working on standardized reporting in CMR (first quality metric on TOF)
Quality Improvement: Join Us!
Members from different practice MR models and
experience are encouraged to join to provide a
broad and comprehensive perspective
