Sapho empowers employees with a Modern Portal Experience (MPX) that surfaces relevant tasks and data using micro apps. These apps, built by IT on top of existing enterprise systems, simplify

workflows and data access and allow employees to complete work faster and make better decisions.

Transforming how people work

Deliver personalized system data and current tasks to employees on any device, intranet, or messenger.

BENEFITS

© 2017 Sapho Inc. All rights reserved.

• Improve employee productivity: Provide employees personalized system data and current tasks wherever they, are on any device

• Enable smart decision-making: Ensure employees have relevant information at their fingertips so they make better informed business decisions

• Streamline enterprise workflows: Simplify work by preventing employees from moving between multiple different systems to complete one basic task

• Remove system bottlenecks: Prevent delays in task completion because it’s too time-consuming for employees to log in and figure out a system

• Reduce helpdesk calls: Decrease support costs for password resets and interface guidance from employees working in a system they use four times a year

• Decrease licensing costs: Monitor software usage to prevent spending money on expensive licenses that never get used

“Sapho’s user interface and push notifications will play well with millennial managers who have grown

up using consumer-focused web apps from Google and Facebook,”

said Van Baker, Research Vice President, Gartner.

“It’s a digital native generation raised on push notifications that interrupt their workflows, if only for a few brief

moments. It fits seamlessly into a behavior that is already well established. And that gives Sapho

an advantage to go to market.”

KEY FEATURES

Deliver modern apps on any device, intranet, or messenger

Employees use multiple channels every day to send and deliver information. Sapho transforms these existing channels into a

modern enterprise portal that provides micro apps – simple, single purpose apps, built on top of existing systems of record –

that contain relevant information and high-priority tasks. Now employees have access to personalized system data and current

tasks from their mobile and desktop devices, messenger clients, and browser or intranet sites. They can also select the type of

information they receive and the frequency they are updated. Behind the scenes, Sapho uses machine learning to continuously

monitors usage to learn the what, when, and how information should be delivered to your workforce.

Break down complex processes into simple workflows

Traditional enterprise applications are hard-to-use, slow, and bloated with features designed for power users, forcing the

typical employee user to avoid them. Sapho simplifies these systems by connecting directly to your various systems of records,

monitoring for changes, and then notifying relevant employees. Using micro apps, employees can quickly review information and

complete any associated workflows.

Eliminate data silos by focusing only on active data

Sapho’s turnkey micro apps provide deep integrations for on-premises, legacy, and SaaS applications, databases, data warehouses,

and BI tools. Using our proprietary Extract, Transform, prepare to Notify (ETN) technology, these micro apps integrate with

each source system to distill only the “active” data needed to complete workflows, rather than attempting to integrate the entire

system. Now, micro apps can provide a single view into multiple systems and automate tasks between your systems.

Build and edit micro apps for your systems

With Sapho, IT professionals, business analysts, and process experts can build new micro apps or edit pre-built micro app

templates quickly using a simple to use, drag-and-drop micro app builder. They can also customize the look and feel of their apps

and add various components, such as complex charting, sophisticated tables, forms, and signature blocks. These components can

be mapped to the data fields in existing systems and can call existing business logic so that employees can complete workflows

without any back-end changes.

Leverage your infrastructure and your security

Sapho has been purpose built to fit into your existing infrastructure and security footprint. It can be deployed in your data

center on a standard Java application server and SQL 92 database or deployed as a cloud-native app in your Amazon, Google, or

Microsoft private cloud. Alternatively, we can run a single tenant managed cloud on your behalf. Sapho uses your existing identity

provider for authentication and authorization to micro apps and complies with your existing security policies for internal web

applications.

DEPLOYMENT

On-premises

Sapho deploys directly into your data center as a

native Java application and uses a SQL 92 database

to store metadata and cached data. Sapho operates

as a standard Java EE application and is very easy

to manage, upgrade, and scale.

Virtual private cloud

Sapho offers a cloud native application with a

step-by-step wizard to deploy into Amazon AWS,

Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. On Amazon

AWS, Sapho uses Amazon Beanstalk and Relational

Database Service to auto-scale and provide

database snapshots. On Google Cloud, Sapho

uses Kubernetes and CloudSQL to auto-scale.

On Microsoft Azure, Sapho is offered as turnkey

Marketplace instance. From a virtual private cloud,

Sapho can access your internal systems via a

secure connection.

Managed Cloud

Sapho can manage a single tenant instance

on your behalf in Amazon AWS using Amazon

Beanstalk and Relational Database Service to

provide scalability and resilience. We manage data

snapshots for recovery and can offer multi-region

hot-hot failover.

SECURITY

We understand you have already spent a lot of time defining security practices to match your needs. This is why Sapho was

designed to match the footprint of your existing internal web applications and be compliant with common security practices in

large enterprises.

On-premises or private cloud deployment

Sapho deploys as a standard Java .war file into a Java application server such as Tomcat, or into the Platform-as-a-Service feature

of a private cloud. Sapho software is managed and secured like your existing internal web applications, and fits into standard

deployment processes.

Controlled data storage

Sapho stores all metadata and cached data in a SQL92 database such as MySQL, which can be isolated and managed on your

internal network like existing database records.

Transport security

The Sapho Server uses SSL for transport security like any other Java EE application. SSL certificates can be forwarded by the

reverse proxy or terminated within the DMZ.

Extensive logging

All interactions are logged into either the application server or system log, which in turn are pulled into the existing log

management system, so any security incidents can be remediated like any other internal application.

Identity provider support

Sapho uses your existing identity provider to authenticate and authorize users, just like other applications. Sapho works with a

variety of identity providers, including Active Directory, LDAP, and SAML. Access to individual micro apps is authorized by access

control lists and groups defined in your existing identity solution.
